The door to the BCS room of secrets was left open lately by the keepers of all BCS back room secrets. By the sports writers and TV new men around college football.
Now we are getting to see for our self. Just how the backroom deals between the members of the BCS Bowl selections are really put together. Where the deals are made.
To say that it is a messy sight is a understatement. To say the least.
That I would rather not know now what I am seeing done with my own eyes. Horror of horror. The truth is worst then my imagination. The BCS dirty dealing in the back room is totality with out honor. And the bottom line is coming from a shady group of men hanging on to a abusive power that is abusive because of them. They are the reason the College football BCS Bowls setups are a mess. No one else. They are in a simple phrases " Full of bull".
Alabama has yet to win anything but the games that they have played against too many weak opponents. Alabama has not won a conference division, or conference title. Alabama has now stopped playing any more game. So we the public are ask to tune into a # 2 best college football team in the Nation. And that the team is the ESPN choose Alabama 11-1. Who has not really earned that spot. Nice going sports writers, and TV men. Keep messing around like that some more. And maybe the rest of this country just might turn out of your backroom BCS deals in the future. And have one of the most fun sports in America. College Football. Hurt.
You corrupt low life keepers of the BCS secrets. I am very sorry that I looked. I will not look again. Keep you silly secrets. And my all means stay close to each other backside. I dough very seriously if you will be welcome in the other neighborhood around town. Your clothing that you wear, is better then you.

Well, I still stand by my statement. If every regular season game is supposed to matter and every week is a playoff, which is one of the big BS lines of the BCS, then it should ONLY be played between conference champions in the future. The four large conferences have championship games, the Big 12 has everyone play every season right now, and nobody cares about the Big East. The problems should be sorted out in the regular season through "natural selection." They were this year. The champs are left standing and two play for the title. It's not like Bama got robbed this year. They had a shot and lost, at home no less.
Under the current system, LSU and Bama have to play, but they need to add the champions only rule. Better yet, a playoff, even just a plus 1 would be such an improvement.

I agree with the spirit of your post. We tend to forget a few things about Bama's schedule. They're the same team that gave up 21 points to Georgia Southern. They lost to the #1 team in the nation at home in overtime. Their signature wins are against Penn State and Arkansas. LSU exposed Arkansas as a pretender and Penn State dropped games to Nebraska and Wisconsin. Neither team is playing for a conference championship. Their non-conference schedule compared to LSU isn't even worth mentioning.
The SEC is not perceived as strong this year despite having nine teams that are bowl eligible. The Big 12 has eight bowl eligible teams, but that also corresponds to 80% of the conference. Say what you want about the loss to Iowa State, but they're another bowl eligible team in the Big 12 and that loss was in triple overtime on the road after the team learned of a terrible tragedy. Alabama lost in overtime at home not only to the #1 team in the nation, but in a game they were also favored to win.
If you want to talk about missed field goals, let's talk about missed field goals. The field goals missed by Bama were by no means easy field goals. Field position and special teams are a big part of games and Bama only reached the red zone once. The score was close as a testament to Bama's defense and the fact that Randle dropped an easy pass in the end zone during regulation.
Oklahoma State could very well get a chance if they take care of business on December 3. It's very easy to forget that the human polls are a, "What have you done for me lately?" club. Oklahoma State is second in the computer polls for the BCS. We forget that a two-loss LSU with triple overtime losses to Kentucky and Arkansas vaulted into the title game after winning the SEC just a few years ago after UGA sat idle for a week. Don't think something similar can't happen again while Bama sits idle. Bama is by no means a lock.

Playoff seems like the simple logical solution to all this, yet it seems so far away from being possible. Mainly because of the bowls. Use the BCS, or better yet a committee, to determine top 8 seeds and use the bowls for quarters, semis, etc. in a rotation.

If there wasn't already so much money tied up in the bowl system as it currently exists, a Div. I FBS playoff would have been put in place years ago. It would take some major scandal to get a playoff in Div. I FBS.

And there was a scandal. Remember the Fiesta bowl thing last year? It's like it never happened now

NCAA needs the votes of the Big East Presidents to pass the BCS. The Big East held the cards. They will get dominated and embarrassed in the BCS bowl again.

Placing limits on scholarships has been good for college football. Having limits on how many conference teams can receive BCS invites is also good. The real tragedy of the current system is Houston not having an opportunity to play there way into the title game.
Remember, this is not professional football.

Wisconsin CRUSHED Penn state. Bama has beaten NOBODY!
As I said last week ago. The best thing that bama can say about their team is man we were really really close to beating LSU.
