No LSU players selected by the New Orleans-based (thus LSU-hating) Sugar Bowl committee, but Tulane gets a guy selected. Only Alabama has more Sugar Bowl appearances than LSU, but, of course, Archie Manning gets selected.

Even when you consider they didn't select anyone before 1984 (outside of Gene Stallings), no Billy Cannon? Seriously?

George Teague? Can't have a better game than he did in '92.

Probably do, for financial reasons. Tourism in a slow tourist time is main objective

I was joking but you are right, it goes both ways too. I'm still pissed we didn't get the Rose Bowl in 06

Some of it is for financial reasons. The Sugar Bowl was pretty open in the '80s about how, all things being equal, they'd prefer other SEC teams than LSU because LSU fans wouldn't stay in hotels. And I understand that part, and I don't blame them. They took Auburn in '88 when LSU shared the title and beat Auburn. But Auburn was higher ranked, had a better overall record and would bring more overnight tourist money. I don't have a problem with that at all.

But you can bet there are people involved with the Sugar Bowl with Tulane ties who hate LSU. Even Archie hates LSU, and you know he has his say, being God's gift to New Orleans, despite his horrific record as a Saints quarterback. And don't blame that record all on the team around him. He was responsible for some of those failures, too.

Saban could be on this list if his Bama teams didn't consistently shite the sugar bowl bed.

It's pretty obvious they took players/coaches from the earlier days.

Gaynell Tinsley should have been in the first class.

I'd put him as the second most glaring omission from Alabama.

Does the broken body of Hawaii QB Colt Brennan get an In Memoriam entry?

Look, I'm as big of a Major Ogilvie fan as you can find but to include him while omitting Krauss and Teague?

No Tebow? Surprised. His performance vs Cincy was ridiculous.

Josh Reed went for 14-239 2 TD on some All-America DBs. Should have been on there.

why should Billy Cannon be in the Sugar Bowl HOF? I won't comment on Josh Reed, Rohan Davey, or Justin Vincent given no players were selected after the early 80s
