I have twice.Shula's last season in 06 and late last yr with Avery.Very mediocre programs they led losing to anybody on any given day. With Saban we had hope with his hire and now we do with Oats.I was ok losing to rivals to possibly getting a consistent winner as head coach.

Yes. In 2007 I wanted any result that would get rid of Franchione. In 2017, after the UCLA game, I wanted to lose to Nichols so Sumlin would get fired immediately.

No. But it will happen 4 times a year with Gus at the helm.

Yes, we needed to get rid of Matt Luke's fat arse.

It was time

Yes I wanted Ty Storey to come back and kick the shite out of the fraud Chad Morris.

I've never wanted us to lose, but I was pretty checked out during the 2015 season in Richt's last year as our HC. The Alabama and Tennessee games made me realize that he would never get it done and it pretty much destroyed all the enthusiasm I had for our program under him.

I can't ever remember wanting your team to win.

I wanted to Kentucky to lose to Wisconsin in the Final Four because I thought a 40-0 season going to make me feel prideful.

No. Call me short sighted, but wishing for failure in the hopes of getting a coach fired seems like a horribly depressing way to watch sports.

Never. Not for a second. Never even thought about it. We have extremely different views of what it means to be a fan.

Sadly, yes. I wanted Ty Storey to come back to Fayetteville, and end Chad Morris’ tenure as head coach of the Razorbacks, and that is just what happened.

I haven’t ever rooted against my team either, but I’ve come away a time or two with post-game thoughts that losing the game might be a good thing.
If there’s a chance that your team losing a game will result in the positive impact of a program’s long term prosperity, the winning of that game [and raising the probability of a lame duck regime extending their stay and further delaying potential success] seems a bit pointless.
Again though, it’s hard for any fan to legitimately root against their own team just based on built-up frustration and the assumption that the next guy up will be the guy that instantly fixes everything.

Never wanted my team to lose.
I think losing to Mississippi State in the 1996 SEC tournament may have helped UK win the NCAA, and to UNC in 1977 (or UCLA in 75) inspired the championship in 1978.
I don't recall the year, but I think I was relieved one year under Tubby that we didn't make the SEC finals. Dad and I used to always go to the tournament in Atlanta and that year we weren't getting along and maybe I was homesick for my wife and I definitely didn't want the Cats to lose, but when they did it was like "yeah, let's get out of here and go back home."
Also, I wonder if losing to UT in 2011 would've gotten Joker Phillips fired a year earlier than he was and reduced the damage to the program... though who knows who would've taken over, I doubt it would've been Mark Stoops. But I would never give up a win over Tennessee.

I hated it for the players but I was relieved when we lost to Vandy in Joker’s last season knowing he couldn’t recover from that. Only because I was afraid if he didn’t Barnhart wouldn’t let him go.

I never want my TEAM to lose, but I very much at times want my UNIVERSITY to LOSE.
As in, lose those lily-livered administrators who can't make ballsy decisions. Grow some stones, dudes.

Yes. I wanted Shula to lose to Moo St so he would get fired.

I never, ever have, but I very seriously thought about it with Moorhead this year. I hated losing the MCB to the Linebeards, but in hindsight I'm glad we did. If we win no Leach.
