that's not what I am saying.
Again, you are failing to be logical.
Nutt had a history of having players drafted high that did not pan out. What the suggests is these players had physical attributes and game film where they performed better than their overall potential. ONce they were out from under Nutt they washed away.

Your saying that he got them to run to the left, right and up the middle...But Nutt and his staff doesn't prepare them for the league...
Don't say I'm being illogical without looking at what you typed

Or, it means they had a ton of natural ability but were never forced to work/practice at a level the NFL demands. Therefore, their potential was never reached.
See, we can both do this.

Take a guy like Matt jones for instance. Lackadaisical. Lazy. No desire and no work ethic. Yet Nutt still gave him a chance to carry the team and he did. He took the team on his shoulders and carried it for years.
And look at how he's turned out? You guys are gonna miss ole Houston dale Nutt. This program won't be over .500 in the SEC without him and not even close.

So you are justifying a coach allowing a lazy player to lead his team, instead of demanding that he step up and work hard?
Damn, I'm so glad that dumbass is gone.

The guy isn't an Ole Miss fan or an Arkansas fan. He's a Houston Nutt fan. That's not how the SEC works, IMO. You follow a team, regardless of who the coaches may be, not vice versa.
DCRebel, good point and you seem like a very reasonable Rebel Fan. Hog Fans have had to deal with the likes of WRT for years who have a Jim Jones Cultish like infatuation with Nutt.
Is there any wonder why the fan base was fractured and the program in shambles when Nutt left? That's why Arkansas played so many freshmen last year and brought in several Juco players to add immediate help and to even out the class numbers.
This is the only response posters on here should give WRT from now on.

one of the radio guys was speculating that had Petrino been here during the Matt Jones era he wouldn't have played QB and likely would not have played much at all. Can you imagine JOnes playing for Petrino and his 160 play scrimmages? or lolly gagging around and getting screamed at? Hell, petrino has been "grumbling" at his assistants on the practice field.
so, that's a player one coach allowed to carry the team, lazy or not. When, you would think another coach wouldn't have kept him on scholarship. If he were on the team as a WR, you would think he'd spend most of his career in teh doghouse unless Petrino catered his discipline approach for Jones. It just goes to show the difference in philosphies. Who knows which will be better long term for a small recruiting market program like Arkansas(although my fortune is on Nutt) but it's a totally different method from recruiting all the way down to philsophy and personality. total opposites
