I think she did eventually.
Pieces of You is a great album. One of those handful of ones I can listen through from start to finish. And possibly on repeat.

The Jewel homeless thing is mostly bullshite.
Her family was hippies. And they had money. They weren't broke, homeless, and destitute. They chose to drive around living out of the car and roughing it for certain periods of time here and there.
