Believe it or not, some of us heathen rednecks are pretty well-read.

My favorite Grisham is Bleachers. Maybe because it's just off the beaten path considering what he usually writes.

Fitzgerald is a cuntbag.
Also, I've read Black Hawk Down so many times that its coming apart. Same with Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass.

What didn't you like about Catcher in the Rye?
I started it a couple times, and ignored it in high school when I was supposed to read it. But when I finally did read it all the way through, I loved the writing style and being in the authors head.

I would also suggest Blood Meridian if you just appreciate great writing.

Speaking of Fitzgerald I'm about to throw Midnight in Paris on in honor of this thread.

I've read my copy so many times it's falling apart. I love it. Love the Louisville references in it too.
Like my copy of Old Man and The Sea. The difference is that Hemingway is one of the greatest writers of all time, and Fitzgerald is well, Fitzgerald. I'll just leave it at that.

The Road was so bleak.

Sigh.
I hated Old Man and the Sea the first time I read it in HS. Came to appreciate it much later. A Farewell to Arms is more up my alley (shocking I know).
