That’s the thing though. Y’all weren’t the 15th most talented team. The Tennessee mindset is still with you. You have not hit rock bottom yet. Your body is not ready for recovery.

It’s the only objective metric I know to reference. The gulf between that and the results on the field are the consequence of some combination of failures in coaching and culture.

I’m sorry you have to feel this type of despair. Auburn has had bad bad bad years but a year or two later we have rebounded to the top of the SEC. 2008 was 5-7, 2010 was a undefeated titles. 2012 was 3-9 then the following year a trip to the NC. 1999-2001 were bad but the 9, 8 and 13 wins. I can’t imagine a sustained streak of mediocre football for 15 years. But the worst part as you mentioned is not playing with heart and physicality.

Regardless of where people think we are talent wise, we have more talent than Georgia fricking state. That loss was inexcusable

He’s citing recruiting rankings.

What happened yesterday shout definitively kill the idea that recruiting rankings mean anything. Of course, it won’t.

No, it says that even great talent can be ruined by idiotic coaching. The recruiting rankings are FAR from perfect. They miss on players, but the general team rankings tend to end up giving a decent idea of how teams are overall.

You should put an application in to the Sun Belt. May find 5 wins there.

Uh, they just got thoroughly beaten by a team that only managed two wins in that conference just last year. Five might be aiming a little high.

Tenn should voluntarily join the big xii. Easier schedule and might help build their confidence. Maybe reapply to SEC in 2035

No people let those metric gas them up but at the end of the day you can’t put metrics on how hard a kid plays and what effort they give or how competive they are. They can give you a metric on how physically mature they are compared to other kids but that’s it.

So you agree with me.Good.

All he's saying is, that on paper, the team is talented

It’s been a long time coming, but I’m finally broken. Year after year of optimism followed by crushing defeats and I kept coming back. This time I have to turn away. The team I love has lost what little pride they had left. I watched the 15th most talented team in college football not care that they were getting whipped at every phase of the game by a Sun Belt team. I watched a coaching staff with no fire and no aggression. I’m done investing emotion in a team that shows no pride or effort. Nothing good comes from it.

This is what happens when schools veto a coach because of misinformed feelings of fans. Theres a woke culture problem in Tennessee and many other places that needs to be eradicated. Missouri also a hot mess. It’s like a cancer spreading across America. The useful idiot mobs calling the shots. Tennessee needs to curb stomp BYU, Chattanooga then win against Florida just to get back on track. IMO. We need a good Tennessee in east.

I legit feel sorry for real Tennessee football fans. The admin completely caved to the social justice crowd and made yet another "safe" hire instead of getting the right man for the job. Tennessee won't be competitive again until a premium is placed on winning, and the image pedestal is completely done away with. It's really all in the fans hands at this point. Stop showing up to games and the charade will ultimately stop. I also believe the conference will ultimately suffer due to the complete ineptitude of the Tennessee football program. No one in the conference really wants to see what happened yesterday.
