I went through the same thing with my grandmother when my grandpa died. I tried everything to stop her from crying. It sucked, because I had never seen her cry before. The best thing was talking about him, oddly enough.

Thanks, Coastie and Chilld. Yes, it's a big adjustment. I keep expecting to see him walk around the corner and crack a joke like he always did. And his chair is empty and that's just weird. Now that all the family has gone home (except for the nephew I'm currently drinking whiskey with!) it's going to be really quiet. That's what will be so hard for Mom.

Ill try anything thats not an insect or spider once.

The hardest part is not seeing them around every day. I still miss seeing my grandmother. The only thing that helps is time. She will never get over it, but she will eventually adjust to it. It will take some time though.
