1. A&m fans need to learn the difference between needs and wants. Slive and presidents wanted more revenue, the SEC did not need A&M whatsoever. Any of you who think the SEC initiated the conversation between the two of us is riding on a shorter bus than I thought.
2. Aggie fans, grow some thicker skin about your traditions. This is a message board. Y'all have some pretty gay looking shite as traditions, it is going to be made fun of, deal with it. We all still make fun of bama for their gay arse statues.
Florida for their fugly jorts, us aubs for our tree hugging, multiple mascot loving ways. Plus we cheat.
Grow some skin, this is the SEC
Haven't seen any Aggies here insinuate that the SEC reached out to A&M. It's pretty common knowledge that TAMU reached out first after finally figuring out the Big 12-2-1+5 was no longer viable as a conference home. If there was any doubt, that was brushed aside when Slive and the presidents publicly tapped the brakes a few weeks ago to make it clear that the SEC was not poaching other conferences.
As far as tradition smack goes, I'll be honest, the shite y'all SEC fans have been throwing out so far has been pretty fricking weak. It'd be one thing if it was original and all, but literally not one insult I've read on this board hasn't already been thought of by our former conference mates in the bevo9. Hopefully A&M actually playing SEC schools on a regular basis will raise the caliber of smack, but right now I suppose this anemic shite will have to do

You wont find an Aggie who says the SEC needed us. If any of you think that is the case it is simply a failure of reading comprehension on your part.

A&M was added for TV Markets ONLY... it is what it is, accept it
We are cross-talkiing. I agree that was a primary reason, but certainly NOT the ONLY reason.
If that was the primary reason, why not go for Pitt, or Syracuse?
1 New York
2 Los Angeles
3 Chicago
4 Philadelphia
5 Dallas-Ft. Worth
6 San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose
7 Boston
8 Atlanta
9 Washington, DC
10 Houston
If it's ONLY TVs that matter, those two bring the top to the table. I think the ACC made that move PURELY for TVs.

It's not our fault that your gheyness is so obvious that other fans have pointed it out to the point of you being desensitized to it.

Better attempt, still weak
New conference, better fans--y'all better step it up!

Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Arkie, and Auburn are all monster programs. A&M may not be at the top of that list, but dude, objectively speaking....taking off the maroon goggles.....the SEC added another monster. Name another program not clad in burnt orange that would have been bigger?
I totally agree you were the best choice, but some of your friends seem to think (or at least act like) you are bringing 40% more revenue to the SEC, or that we wanted you so we could make all this more money. It isn't the case. It's because we are trying to stay competitive with the Big 10 and Pac 10 because of the collapse of your conference. If by adding you we make more money and do stay competitive, then great. But if you had just stayed your asses put in the Big 12. We wouldn't be having this conversation.

How is smack talk about traditions suppose to be new? Its not our fault that you guys have been made fun ever since the inception of your school on the fact that your traditions are a perfect example on how to turn milkmen into, well, whatever they are now.

I agree--not y'all's fault. Just disappointed, that's all (I'd know something about disappointment being an Aggie football fan
)

b/c Pitt and Syracuse are NOT in the SouthEast first of all. A&M and Mizzou aren't really either, but they at least border a current SEC state so its easier to accept them culturally
You think the SEC would add a team in Upstate New York? You think that was EVER on the table? What are you even talking about?
Not that we would add a team from pennsylvania either... but just for the record nobody in Philadelphia cares about the Pitt Panthers, NOBODY. None, Zilch. Those two cities are on the exact opposite side of the state, and dont think highly of each other
Posted on 9/30/11 at 2:01 pm to KaiserSoze99
For the 100,000th time. The SEC did not need to add A&M or ANYONE for that matter. We admit it. But, I would also like an admission that was the best team to add. Tell me who the SEC should have added once it decided to expand.
NO OTHER TEAM would have better met these objectives collectively:
1. Contiguous geography
2. Fan support
3. Culture
4. Historical ties
Name one team better.
The monsters programs of each conference:
B1G:
Ohio State
Michigan
Nebraska
Pac:
USC
Big 12-2-1:
Faggoty Orange
Mobilehoma
Big East:
???
ACC:
VT
Florida State
???
SEC:
Alabama
Tennessee
Florida
LSU
Auburn
Georgia
It's one, two or three programs per conference. The SEC was NEVER in danger of losing dominance. But don't act like A&M doesn't compare to several on those lists. If you are pointing to the last 10 years of A&M football as some future trend, you may need to get some perspective.

But honestly, there isn't a flame on the internet that isn't old and worn out. Hell, some guy tried to flame the other day about AU being the Plainsman and all that. I've heard that arguemtn for 20 years now, it is what it is.
But even more honestly, gtfo and the such

I admitted you were the best choice since we had to take someone above this post. But you've won 3 bowl games in 20 years.
Kentucky has that many in the last 10.

All part of the reason I come on the rant--get folks riled up about their school or against mine. Part of what makes being a college football fan so fun.

Whats funny is that to them, these Milk Man jokes are so old and obnoxious...
but for those of us in the SEC who had no idea the Aggies used gay milk men instead of hot chicks for cheerleaders, this is still grade A funny shite
These jokes may be old to aggies, but its the first time we have heard them around here, and they are pretty damn funny. I literally had no idea A&M was full of so many fruitbags and fruitbag traditions, so its gonna take a little while for me to get over it and for me not to think these jokes are funny, even if ya'll have been hearing this for 100 years

It's pretty weird at first, but considering cheerleaders are about as effective as mannequins, and our school was all-male, it's not something we're willing to change.
It doesn't really matter how weird the traditions we have are. We're not gonna change them to please people. I get smack-talked all the time for going to school here, but it's well worth it.

Personally, I'd like to see a resurgence of "Aggie jokes." They used to be so popular that A&M students and grads would come up with them themselves. Nowadays nobody knows how to take a fricking joke anymore.
In the interim though, just laugh, realize that nothing's changing, and move on to the next round of school bashing

It's only funny until they realize we outrank them in academics.
