I still believe Saban could have had success in the NFL had he hung around longer. You saw how bad the Dolphins were after he left.

Using the year 1992 when Arkansas joined the SEC as a starting point, my guess is Stanford has been in ten bowl games, they have a track record of winning with super smart kids recruited nationwide. Barry Sanders' kid the latest of many kids that picked academics over athletics when he said thanks but no thanks to his dad's alma mater Oklahoma State.
get that weak shite out of here. Stanford only had like 8 winning seasons from 1979 - 2008.

What is so different between Vandy and Stanford?
Access to talent, facilities, history, and conference affiliation to name a few.

Tyrone Willingham took Stanford to a Rose Bowl. Tyrone Willingham! Stanford certainly isn't a powerhouse program but they aren't Vandy or Duke. I think Stanford's pretty comparable to a program like Northwestern from the Big 10. Northwestern has strict academic restrictions but they've put together a pretty competitive football program in a tough conference.

From 1978 to date Stanford has won 48% Vandy 29%

Stanford is a great place to coach. They just can't seem to keep a coach long term. That's been their biggest caveat.

More will be revealed, at this moment his brother would be the guy I would take based on a track record longer than one season in the NFL
it is has been even more impressive for him seeing how he never had a head coaching position at any level before taking the Ravens job.
But IMO, I would take Saban as my college coach and Jim Harbaugh as my pro football coach.

Shaw would definitely stay there long term but I'm not sure he's good enough yet

Stanford actually has little football history. Weren't they in the first ever Rose Bowl? John Elway and Jim Plunkett. I mean they aren't juggernauts by any means, but they crush Vandy as far as football pull...

Well, in terms of overall history both are pretty similar. Vanderbilt was actually top three in wins in the SEC as late as the 1960s. However, Stanford overwhelms Vanderbilt over the last half century.

True, Dirty Ditty Douche just has the insecure barner thing workin' for him. I am sure he will use T-Town Menswear to discount Stanford wins and over value Vandy's.

I'd take Harbaugh. If he can create a national power at Stanford, he can damn sure do it at Ole Miss. Not that Saban couldn't do it, I just like Harbaugh more.
