If you favor a CFB playoff then you should favor a BCS rematch.

If CFB ever goes to a playoff...even just a plus one, then a Bama/LSU type rematch will become much more common. It's exactly this sort of situation that playoff opponents point to. One of the tradeoffs will be that it makes the regular season less important.

If for instance, LSU and Bama do play in the BCSCG this year, then what did Nov 5th really mean? Not much really, it will be much more like the NFL. So as much as many of us scream for a playoff system, perhaps we should watch what we wish for.

I'd like a playoff and it would not diminish November 5 at all. It's a strange year, the exception. Playoff >> BCS any year.

In a playoff system I would be ok with it. In the bcs system, I'm not ok with it.

In that case, go Auburn.

I like the bcs no matter the outcome of the championship game.

4 team playoff.

Ask Stanford or Wisconsin or clemson or Florida state how important the regular season is.
I hate hearing how a playoff would diminish the regular season.

If anything, the only thing this could possibly diminish is the "value" of earned national championships teams have now. Sort if like how you hear now " sec has won x number of championships in the bcs era" as if some championships earned pre 1998 aren't as good. Same with the NFL and super bowl titles.

It meant that we could still win the SEC which would mean automatic placement in a playoff system. Bama would have to still win out the season and hope for an at large spot. Also, depending on what type of playoff system, LSU could have a first round bye.

If a rematch happened out it no one would complain because of the teams would have to "battle" their way up too it.

If both teams win out it should be LSU-Alabama. The national championship game is suppose to put the top 2 teams in the country in the championship game. It has been obvious all year that these two teams have been the best, and its all falling in place for the system to get it right this time. I hope both teams do win out and the game can be just as good as the last one.

One big difference in a playoff system, assuming that Bama and LSU win out (very likely IMO), is that Bama would have to win at least one more game before losing to LSU in the championship game.

I'd love a playoff system...let the champions win it on the field. There's no way the bowls will ever be ommitted rather, they will certainly be integrated into it. Some folks seem to think that it would boil down to conference champions playing each other but, ain't gonna' happen that way. Of course if it did, one thing wouldn't change...the SEC would usually keep it.

Just play 8 regular conference game and the remaining four could be potential playoff if your team doesn't sucks. That way everyone WILL have a playoff and be happy. Win div, goes to the play off.

I know what you're saying, but I still don't understand why that's such a bad thing. People who act like regular season NFL rivalry games aren't important obviously haven't seen the Falcons vs. Saints regular season, or the Pats vs. Jets, etc., etc. The teams and the fans are as fired up for those games as they are the playoff games.
