If you don't like a person's character of another race you are deemed racist?

This is only sports related because of all the things surrounding Cam, and I know I could have posted this on another board... but what is this nonsense?

Skin color has nothing to do with the heart and character of a human being. It's a pigment. There is good character and bad character, and it shows in professional athletes because they are put in emotionally stressful situations very often. Cam has displayed both, but in the most crucial moments he tends to portray bad character. This is why I personally don't care for him. Race is the last thing on at least my mind when I'm seing a character issue.

Racism does exist, but is primarily only an issue when someone wants to be a "victim" of it. There's tons of people I don't like, and I'm sure all of you have many people you don't care for in any and all races you come in contact with. I wish people would drop the racism act.

Depends on how one goes about expressing their dislike of the other individual in question, tbh.

Some use race to buttress their position. Those are racists.

Most normal people refrain from doing so.

The way this has played out, if you are more "outgoing", etc. and it is criticized by a white then yes. The main thing I have heard is people don't like Cam because he's black. Not sure it's that simple. It's more of a cultural thing and those differences have been here since the beginning of time amoung all people of all races. It probably won't ever change. We generally don't like something thats "different".
Older folks like myself saw the Fab 5 deal with it. White America were Duke fans and black America was UM fans. Not because of any affiliation but because they saw themselves culturally in that particular group. You migrate to what you are most comfortable with. It isn't straight up racism but it is conceived from a racial, cultural difference.

It depends on why you don't like them. I've seen a bunch of Cam threads but I still don't know why. Mostly I've just seen one word slurs with the most common being thug. So yeah from what I've read so far it's seems racist.

BTW most white people don't have a clue when they are being racist, or why. That's because white people tend to be stupid. And I don't mean that in a racist way.

Hopefully people will begin to wake up and realize this. I posted in another thread about a black guy that works in my warehouse. His daughter graduated from an early college program and to celebrate, myself and the other owner threw a party for his family at our store that is a repurposed old barn. They were beyond grateful, except for one of his sisters. She went on a rant about how we only did this because we want to look good and if we really cared about blacks we would give her brother a raise and promotion. Before I was even able to respond, her brother threw her the hell out. He then pulled his daughter and me aside to thank me and remind her of the value of hard work and high character.

The point is, even though him and I are separated by the color of our skin, and even though we joke almost daily about the funny differences between blacks and whites, he's a man of extreme high character and work ethic and that's why we threw his daughter a party. It was celebration for her as much as it was to celebrate his accomplishments as a father and man. We did give him a raise. Not because he was black. Because we are proud to have him as a member of our team and he remains a vital part of our small, but growing company.

Race only matters to a racist. So if someone uses race as an excuse or position stance then they're a racist.

The argument grew old a very long time ago. Race is used by those seeking a division of the people in order to retain power. Weak minded fools feed it and those race baiters in power by perpetuating the lie.

That's incredibly racist. And I'm black.

The reason is because the majority race typically is less acutely aware of racial occurrences/bias as a matter of course. Doesn't make them bad people or stupid.

Come the frick on.

This is the way most of us work, play and go to church with each other. It's too bad there are so many political opportunists that want to use racism as a bolster for their own selfish wants. This has divided the nation in the last few year more than it has been for the last 25 years. If one chooses to be a victim they will always have an excuse for lack of motivation or bad behavior. Those who take responsibility and want to get along will.

The frick? Do you literally know nothing about the world around you? You can be annoyed at people crying wolf, but that sentence is pure willful ignorance.

There's just a lot of culture differences that sometimes we don't understand and like someone else said, because of that it may make some people look racist. We just have to learn to accept cultural differences and realize that we are all different in our own way. That being said, we all make a choice on how we act or what kind ot character we show. We can all have good character no matter where we come from. If we surround ourselves with people of high character it makes life so much better. I have a group of friends in college and within this group is 4 different races and cultures and we all respect the differences each of us have and hold eachother to high character.
