So you wouldn't take the IB into overtime last year instead of what happened? Interesting
Things happen for a reason. Maybe if we win it all this past year, Saban leaves and we are back to reality. That game kept us hungry. I'm not really a woulda shoulda coulda if I only had one magic wish kinda guy.

The James Meredith stuff sucks and was a huge embarrassment but people forget that was one if not the best teams we've had

Go back in time, kill JFK and Meredith.

3rd and 1. 4th and 1. Iron Bowl 2013
Running into a stacked box with a less than mediocre oline and a hobbled running back. Try a quick pass to Howard or Fowler. Try running Henry.

I guess I don't know. Maybe we are on the decline? Don't cus at me homie.

Either the 2007 Big 12 CCG or the 2013 SEC CCG. Either one would've sent us to the national title game...we had a better chance of winning the natty in '07 though

Meh, it was a meaningless game that the team didn't want to be playing in.
I sort of agree with him if things play out like they did the last time we lost in the Sugar Bowl. The pain of losing in the Iron Bowl was lessened when Auburn ended up losing the NC.

Agreed. I was gonna pick bribing the Bear to not leave.
Second would be A&M to the SEC in the 90s.

It's just pretty asinine to say the IB "kept you hungry" when you're 0-1 after it. And don't put words in mouths, nobody thinks you're on a decline. As long as you have saban you'll always be elite and everyone knows it.

The Sugar Bowl is meaningless? If you don't want to play in a BCS bowl then saban needs to get his head out his arse.

I know you are almost desensitized to winning titles and all at this point...but you should never NOT take a chance to win one. If you go to OT in the IB let's say you win, you're going to the national title and have a chance to cement this run as without a doubt the GOAT, and go down into legendary status. To turn that down by simply guessing at what next year might hold is just unbelievably ridiculous.

This is how a UGA fan sees football. Not me.
I've seen Alabama win 3 of 4, followed by a auburn loss in the national championship. That's pretty cool. No regrets.

I don't know your age, but I'll assume you remember 2000-2007. To put it bluntly, yall sucked arse. You were a bad, bad football team. I'm sure you would have given an arm to be in the Sugar Bowl during that time. But since you lost to your instate rival and you can't go to the natty, the sugar bowl is just some meaningless chore that must be put up with?
It's that kind of attitude why bama fans get a bad rap.

It may not be "recent" history, but there are three big things I would change about our program if I could go back in time.
1). I would have told the NCAA to kiss our arse. We are keeping Jackie Sherill in 1988.
2). I would have told the Texas Legislature to kiss our arse, we are going to the SEC with Arkansas back in 1991.
3). It may have been the right time to put Slocum out to pasture in 2003, but we should have hired Urban Meyer instead of Dennis Franchione.
