I see what you're saying, but it doesn't make sense. People will judge 2011 (or whatever year we're talking about) on 2011 alone. People will look at who UGA beat and the 1 team we lost to. They'll do the same thing for Oregon and their 1 loss. The 7 computers will do the same thing and the BCS will spit out a ranking. What happens in the game tonight will have absolutely ZERO to do with that process.
Exactly my point. Those people are the idiots that have the power (more power than the computers) to put a team ahead of others because of perceived strength. The reason we are reaping the rewards of a strong conference is the arse kicking that we have been doing over the past 5 years. It is not about pride, it's about putting yourself in the perfect spot for future for when a voter is making the decision.

Forgot about it being on espn. Still, if it was on fox/abc, you can't believe ou/au would ever draw more viewers than a traditional power game like bama/texas.

...post here. If you have decided sell me on your position to be pro or con Barners.
I'm going with Auburn. I can do that by thinking of their "good" fans. You need to put their "boosters" on the back burner, and think of their normal fans. That worked for me. WDE

Is there any way Auburn could win, but Cam Newton could lose?

I'm not pulling for either team but I would like Oregon to win so we can play and beat the defending National Champions next year on a national stage.

Never said it would. Auburn and Oregon are not traditional powerhouses.
I will say this. It would be a lot less interesting if we were playing Oklahoma or a traditional powerhouse. This game does have a draw to it that football fans can be excited about.
