At least one national pundit said it was the best environment he had ever experienced in any sport

Ok then, why should not the SEC care about our longstanding tradition of playing night games since 1931?
So since 1931, your school's traditions include:
Kickoff time.
Being poor and only able to afford one color jersey for all games.
Great traditions you guys have.

Well if anyone had known how much it meant to you we could have worked something out. You should really try and get your AD to battle for you a littler harder.

it means a lot to the respective fanbase, but no one else really gives two shits.
Because you are wrong.
I'll link it again:
Neyland Stadium in Knoxville is the biggest. Sanford Stadium in Athens is the most picturesque. Bryant-Denny in Tuscaloosa is the most successful. But for gameday atmosphere, there is nothing quite like Death Valley at night in the SEC. The food, culture, fans, smells and Richter Scale inducing noise echoing from LSU’s Tigers Stadium is second to none. Among the nation’s best college football venue’s, this one might be the best.

There are COUNTLESS articles that state similar sentiments, there is nothing like Tiger Stadium for a night game. People ALL OVER THE COUNTRY know this. Other teams in the SEC know this. That's why they would rather not have to play LSU in Tiger Stadium at night. They also want to have to play LSU and Florida as little as possible. Do you think Kentucky's AD is going to vote against the permanent rivals so they could play State less and LSU more? frick no.
SEC ADs vote for the best interests of their schools, not their conference.

Lot of Death Valley jealousy in this thread. it's cool...we've been dealing with it for years.

Well, why doesn't LSU catch the same breaks that UA does if they are on equal footing?

I mean all the other schools certainly aren't going to look our for your best interests. I have never said the Bama UT game is important to the conference, but it sure does mean a lot to the two schools.

Play two games at night. We won't try and force you to break whatever tradition you decide you want to have.
We CAN'T, you idiot, the conference won't allow it.
It was a compromise we made for the good of the conference.
Posted on 5/24/13 at 12:42 pm to CheeseburgerEddie
If Bama wanted night games, all they would have to do is tell the Conference what time. I just don't understand how LSU cant do the same thing..

Yea we all saw that and get that nobody but you cares about throwing paper into trees but for some reason we should all care enough about your tradition of Playing Georgia every year for a really long time correct? Ok then, why should not the SEC care about our longstanding tradition of playing night games since 1931?
They care, just not as much as they care about the other stuff.
But seriously, we can all accept that a night game provides somewhat of an advantage to the home team (crowd enthusiasm, prolonged alcohol exposure, etc.). So why should the league mandate that LSU gets this advantage every year?

Keeping our traditions for one.

that's the difference...LSU cares about the conference....bama doesn't. the rest of the schools don't matter anyways
