Clark Lea was headed to the trash heap like all the previous Vandy head coaches before the New Mexico State offensive staff fell in his lap.
This is simply not true. He was already improving Vanderbilt unlike anything since Franklin was there. He made the right move to bring in the guys from NM. But that is to his credit. They are also playing really good defense.

Lea was on the way out until Jerry Kill came to town. Whoever does is taking a risk.

His best chance to jump is this year. Benefiting from a legit baller in his mid-20s playing CFB with the influence and system from his former HC and OC at New Mexico State.
A lot of gas comes out of that balloon if Diego doesn't get another year of eligibility somehow.
Time to cash in.

The coach hires the coordinators. Give him credit. And, even without Pavia, the rest of the team plays better than their predecessors.

Will be interesting to see if he can maintain anything without them
Lea is a defense minded coach and he has their defense playing damn good ball.

He's an alumni. I don't think he will leave.

Without dago Pavia, that guy would look like Billy Napier‘s retarded brother. Nobody’s gonna touch that baby.
