Yeah, that probably included people outside the arenas.

No, how it works is at times arenas will be OVER capacity. That does not change capacity.

Here is the OFFICIAL UK website

quote:

Facility Facts

Capacity: 20,500

An awesome structure in sight and scope, the arena is divided into two seating areas. The lower level features 10,000 cushioned theater seats. The upper level has 10,500 seats with new chairback seats in sections 211-217 and 228-234.

While it is the home court of the Kentucky Wildcats, Rupp Arena is not part of the University of Kentucky. It is owned by the Urban County Council of Lexington, Kentucky and operated by the Lexington Center Corporation (also known as Central Bank Center).

And UK plays there. Therefore it is the stadium for UK men's basketball

IE they have more seats than unc

UNC is a not a fit. UVA, either.
Politically or their overall football/Fan cultures.

Clemson, FSU and Virginia Tech are fits if we HAVE TO expand.

They do not have more seats per your own school website.

UNC has 21,750 seats.

That’s why you let UNC go to the big10.

Absolutely true. Back in the day Jerry Jarrett (the mastermind behind the Memphis wrestling territory) used to run Lexington to 10-15k fans four times a year.

Also true, even when business was hot they had to block off huge chunks of the building for the shows because going to capacity was not going to happen.

Yes, looks like your reno for the 20-21 season reduced capacity.

Your website says:

After renovations, Rupp Arena seats 20,500.

Yeah not like it really matters. Just stating while UNC would be smallest in football next to Vandy, they would be the biggest for hoops so it's not a super bad trade off considering they have always been a basketball school. And a really good baseball program too.

Arkansas is also doing this to BWA in the upcoming major reno, reducing capacity 1-2K for more room.

I agree with this, especially UVA. I want UVA nowhere near our conference. As for UNC, I'm pretty sure the deal is already done. It's just a question of who comes with them in 2030.

Our capacity is pushing almost 70,000 for big games now and we are in need of an expansion. However, that wasn't the point of the post. It's that UNC would be the 2nd smallest stadium, which is surprising. Some of you State fans read weird shite into things that just aren't there.

They see Ole Miss in everything. Literally everything. I don’t blame them. It sucks to be them.
