If this SOB makes it in the NFL I'm digging my 1988 model Riddell out

The Chicago Bears have signed five players who attended their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis over the weekend, including former Williamson High School and UAB standout Matt McCants and John Franklin III, who spent a season as a quarterback at Auburn.

Franklin signed with the Bears as a defensive back, and he also will be looked at as a kick returner.

Franklin came to Auburn from East Mississippi Community College. In 2016, he completed 14-of-26 passes for 204 yards with one touchdown and ran for 430 yards and two TDs for the Tigers.

Well he'd probably be good at that

Sounds sort of Nick Marshalesque, who came to the Jags as a DB, and ended up making the roster and contributing on special teams. You never know, some guys are just great athletes.

I hope he does well, I always hope SEC players make it in the pro's.

He's an athlete and he's fast as hell, so good luck to him.

JF3 does not have the work ethic to make the NFL.

Neither does Pettway.

Didn't know that, but it makes sense. I was kind of a fan of that guy for a while.

I just didn't hate him after watching Last Chance- he got a lot of grief on here and he seemed semi-ok-ish to me. Knock their socks off, JF3.

Nick Marshall was an elite athlete in every way with really good size and strength for a CB and he made it 3 years in NFL. JF3 is a step faster than Marshall but Nick is vastly superior in everything else. JF3 has no chance.
