How can the program be penalized by the QB point shaving?
Universities can be punished for a player signing a secret contract without anyone else knowing.

See the 1980's Tulane Basketball team with Hot Rod Williams. They shut the program down rather than face the wrath of the FBI and NCAA.

Read up on some of the other point shaving scandals, nearly all of which involve basketball. If anyone was actually shaving points at OM I'd be truly impressed/ shocked. I just don't see how you can effectively do it in football. Too many variables.
Unless my memory fails me, the infamous Wallace fumble against MSU was right as he was about to cross the goal line. What happens if he gets no contact? I mean he did actually get hit and the ball knocked loose. If I'm shaving points aint no way I make a bee line for the end zone like he did. I'd take a sack and fumble.
Could they have been betting on games or something, sure but point shaving doesn't seem possible.

I have to agree. I don't see how you can shave points in football either.
Whatever this "something more" is most likely is something else tied to the hookers... MAYBE gambling among coaches and players.
