When SMU gets in, Alabama should go ahead and cancel the Florida State and Wisconsin games scheduled for 2025. Replace them with teams like Nevada and Kent State. We should then talk to Greg Sankey about redoing our schedule. Take Missouri and South Carolina off and replace them with Mississippi State and Kentucky.

We'll leave that to Bama fans.

You're the ones who make excuses when players get injured.

We have huge amounts of injuries every year. We will rely on our depth to deal with it. Hopefully it will be enough.

That’s crazy. It’s not great when I look at the bracket and think 8-4 LSU could beat half the teams in it. :)

Y’all had to play FEI #5, #9, #12, #20 and #26.

To give you a sense of how imbalanced the conferences are LSU finished FEI 16 even with those losses because all of your losses came to teams that would’ve competed for or won basically any conference other than the B10 or SEC with the exception of USC which itself was far better than their record suggests due to their SOS.

No way LSU should open at Clemson next year. Or Texas at Ohio State. No benefit to playing those games.

What team missed the playoff due to losing an OOC game?

SMU played one of the tougher OOC games for team in consideration this year. BYU (#17). They lost. They still got in.

Clemson played SC and UGA. Lost both. Still got in.

This question highlights the stupidity of the questioner.

No, it points out that the best way to make sure undeserving non-SEC teams don't get in is to schedule those teams and beat them.

It's not to avoid those games and still get beaten up in conference. How does that help?

It's like some of you don't even think about what you're saying. There aren't enough available OOC games for the SEC to capture every Indiana and SMU in the country.

ETA: and scheduling those teams wouldn't bolster our strength of schedule

This is true. But we are not going to do away with a big rivalry game.

None of the SEC whining about not getting in played tough OOC games this year.

The ENTIRE conference had 2 ranked wins all year OOC and those were both CLemson.

This is impossible to predict when scheduling.

The year Alabama scheduled the game with Wisconsin, Wiscy lost the Big 10 championship to an Ohio State team that went on to the national title game and finished the season in the top 20. We can't guarantee the teams we schedule will maintain success.
