So is this article wrong?

Ultimately, I don’t think ESPN wants to be paying for the overhead of that network, nor the $15 million to Texas each year, and will look for the easiest way to wind down

i'm not a pouter but I quit yelling SEC SEC SEC when we let teams not from the southeast join. for you impaired folk, that would be mizzou and aggie.
now we rarely play teams from the other division; it's almost like we are two conferences already.
greed is killing college football; now the arms race is national and the schools are hiring marketing companies to create national brands.
I liked the old days better. the fan experience was light years better than today

Tj. A&M still has big 12 ways. Plus they are arrogant without the hardware.

You also leave out Texas offers a ton of money to the table but nobody wants to match... So in the end Texas gets selfish and wants to keep the bulk of the income shared.

16 pages of aggy trying to convince everyone that they are equal to Texas. They are not now nor ever will be and it drives them crazy. No one in the Big 12 liked them and evidently the SEC is already figuring out why. aggy is unique I give them that. I respect their academics, love of country, conservative culture but there is something way off in the aggy culture. As aggy friends of mine say “If you are part of it you can’t explain it and if you’re not you can’t understand it”. True that. A school where girls get “red arse” tattooed inside their lower lip is just something I can’t understand.

The SEC Leadership has received praise over the years for how the have directed the Conference. They have made the right decision to expand the Conference and start the SECN, but they have made some wrong decisions on who they expanded with. Going into Texas was a good decision and even SC, but did they pick the wrong teams ?

so cute when "credit card millionaires" try to run financial, academic and athletic smack at a true market maker like the University of Texas... what, with their manufactured "stats" that include
1. some sort of "salary study" created by themselves, (even if those numbers held up to any sort of scrutiny, they do not include the massive amounts of UT graduates who are compensated outside of a "salary"... I get how insurance agents in Katy wouldn't know anything about this)
2.'endowment numbers' that somehow include a distribution from our PUF... that we don't even 'count' because that money is not endow-able (even though the fund was established for us, we allow you to have 1/3 of the distributions and none of the equity, yet you count your pittance as part of your "endowment" while we do not include our much larger share of the distributions and all of our equity as part of our endowment numbers... this is but one example of the "self reporting" shyte that aggy is famous for that no reputable institution of higher learning would ever contemplate due to ethical considerations everywhere else in the academic world outside of College Station, where there is only one ethos "make it look better'n the sips" ...
*side note... these are the people institutionally approved the drawing of the lines on their bleachers closer together so as to have a "bigger stadium than the sips" when their broke asses couldn't afford to actually build a bigger stadium... THAT.. whatever THAT is.. is the foundation of every administrative decision made by the likes of John Sharp and Rick Perry..but they want to count how many times we mention them in a fight song... this is what is meant by creating an identity strife with envy for something you are not.
3. aggy considers a stadium funding project.. that is still leveraged to the gills.. as a "liquid asset"
4. an athletic department that borrows money from the University's academic side that is still outstanding while a true power player like Texas has an athletic department that GIVES money to its academic side, annually.
The University of Texas spends upwards of 3x the money on resources per student than does aggy.. and it is noticeable everywhere on campus. Our academics are routinely listed as a "public IVY" along with Michigan,UVA and North Carolina. aggy is fighting the likes of the University of Houston and UT Dallas (which is way ahead of aggy) for academic respect.
The difference in athletic prowess has been covered ad nauseum here... it is almost like we participate in two different classifications of collegiate athletics.. one with championships and national respect, and one that begs for some kind of recognition, somewhere and practices yells after they lose, again.
Super conferences are imminent.. where UT ends up will be on UT's terms.. you shouldn't be shocked by this. Some schools are used by the powers that be in conference realignment while others do the using. aggy, as has been consistent with their history, was moved to exactly where the powers that be in college athletics wanted them to be.
know your place, boy.

Texas A&M has long passed up their little brother since 1876.
Bigger School
Bigger endowment
Grads get paid more
Better athletic facilities
Better coaches
Better student support
Better administration support
Much larger research expenditures.
The only people that give a F about Tessus is Tessus and you...a Tessus wanna be T-shirt fan.
You can be a Cocks for Glocks member as well!

So much fail in your post
1. Our stadium is already 100% funded
2. lol at your broke university failing to raise funds for your last 7 capital projects

Sure is a lot of words trying to prove that you are BETTER than Texas A&M.
The proofs in the pudding douche bag. NO ONE likes your arrogant F'in school. You are a Cal Berkley tree hugging cocks for glocks school. The value of a Texas degree is diminishing by the minute because the free market doesn't give a rats butt about your social causes.
As to endowment deep sheet...The Texas A&M University Foundation endowment is almost $4 Billion by itself and has NOTHING to do with the PUF you F'ing retard.
Most of the University of Texas System endowment belongs to the 6 medical schools in your system and the other 15 universities. Each entity has its on endowment. Your whiny liberal school is not even in the Top 10! Weird huh? Top 10 Univesity Endowments by campus!
Go back to the Big 12-2 board and see how many people over there that you can brow beat with you self-entitlement and self-aggrandizement.
Go away sippie! No one over here gives F what you think that you think!

No where outside of aggy is the Texas endowment ranked less than anyone except Harvard. It’s comical to state all of your “facts”. As one person said before “you are can make up your own opinions but you can’t make up your own set of facts”.
Believe me, I am no Texas t shirt fan. I consider them the dark empire. Want them to lose against everyone except aggy. They do have my grudgingly respect in various ways however. Maybe it’s jealousy to a degree since my own alma mater is rivals of them.
As I posted earlier, I have some respect for aggy but you guys just put everyone else down. You are obsessed with Texas. BTW, do you know who Texas considers their biggest rival - OU. And it’s not close. You can have your extreme fettish with all things Texas but they really don’t care about you guys that much. I know that drives you crazy.
You guys are just weird.
My son’s best friend from high school played football at aggy. He has interesting stories. Played for Sherman. There are a lot of good people at aggy but there is a lot of really weird red arse ones also. The posters on here are obviously some of the red arse ones. And you know exactly what that means.

A&M turned down the partner programming option & OU, Nebraska each were sourcing at the same time.
Those minor details never seem to make the conversation.

WestCoastAg: its remarkable how yall have completely talked yourselves into this line of reasoning

OU: By staying in the Big 12, both Texas and OU also will be able to move forward with plans for their own network channels, something neither school would have been allowed to do had they relocated to the Pac-10. Something that could bring in millions to both schools. "We can have an OU channel, by cable, satellite or broadband,” said Castiglione, pointing out research shows OU has a consumer base to support such a channel. "We will have more information as we move forward.” OU and Texas, along with Texas A&M, could be in store for another windfall for staying in the league.
LINK
quote:NEBRASKA: As a result of those talks, Nebraska, like Texas, was now moving to create its own network. A consultant’s study had concluded that a Husker network would succeed and bring in seven-figure revenue on top of what Nebraska was getting from major network telecasts.
Perlman said NU was on track to have its network running by the fall of 2011 — actually ahead of Texas’ timetable.
LINK
quote:
BIG 12: The conference looks bipolar at times. Former commissioner Kevin Weiberg and later Dan Beebe tried to push through a network. The conclusion was there wasn’t enough interest to make it work. Beebe, who was basically run out by Boren in 2011, couldn’t get schools to agree to a grant of rights. Now that agreement binds the league together and a network is a possibility.
