There is no "pick one". 1st selector is did you win your conference? If you did with multiple losses, you're on the fence. If you didn't win your conference, you better hope that some P5 conference winners have multiple losses.

This isn't rocket science like you're making it out to be. We have 5 years of data to look at and it's been consistence every single year.

non conference champ got in over conference champs who only had one more loss

the bolded part is stupid. It's not "only one more loss". It's "2 losses". In a 13 game season 2 losses compared to 1 is a massive deal, it's not like MLB with friggin 162 games.

No. They wont be allowed in tCFP, not valuable enough.

I absolutely 100% agree with you that's why they will not be in the top 4 until after they win the Big 10. Now if they do, there's no way to deny them.

So the one you've picked is that regular season record is more important than conference championships.

Got it.

Record against top 10 teams:

Minnesota: 1-0
Alabama: 0-1

Undefeated?

Minnesota: yes
Alabama: no

Minnesota is a better team than Alabama. And it’s not even close.

Its trending right now where the Pac-12 will have a 1-loss champion, either Utah or Oregon. Both of those teams play the remainder of their season against teams with losing records, so they likely face-off in the championship game, as Oregon is in the North and Utah the South.

I don't see OU getting in this season. I don't see Minnesota beating Ohio State.

Most likely, we'll have undefeated Clemson and undefeated Ohio State taking up 2 of the playoff spots. With a chance of a 1-loss Ohio State, but still the Big 10 champion. So there's two of the teams.

The other two? Either LSU or Bama, plus the Pac-12 champion.

Oregon
Clemson
Ohio State
LSU

that's my prediction

Right now Minnesota has a better resume than Ohio State and Clemson. If the committee was fair, they would be at 2. If they win this weekend, their quality of wins would put them solidly ahead of tOSU and Clem. That would put Georgia at 5.

This is also the time of year for upsets. Somebody huge always loses to a creampuff.

tOSU has harder games than they are used to the next 3 out of 4. MN has to beat Iowa and Wisc. If one of them loses, and Auburn goes wild, the whole thing changes.

Certainly better than some teams ranked ahead of them.
