If LSU leaves, who is Sankey and the Birmingham Mafia eyeing to bring in?

There is way more to all of this than has leaked out. Lane himself has kicked the wrong people in the nuts in Birmingham and they have the backing of most University presidents and chancellors in the SEC.
We will know the full story before Saturday afternoon.
This really sucks for scheduling, sold out games etc. and IMHO everyone just needs to stand down and shed their inflated egos.

They would never do it...but bringing Tulane back would be the biggest "frick you" ever to LSU.
They actually have two SEC football championships and another shared championship. That's more than half of the current members.

If you really believe this, you have zero understanding of how the SEC functions. As the CEO, Sankey would merely be carrying out the will of the majority of his board members...the university presidents.

LSU has always been my 2nd favorite team in the league once I lived down there for 7 years
The LSU / Auburn game has always been just as important to me as the Iron Bowl
I was so excited to see you guys back on our sched this season and I will be PISSED if this game is called off!
Lane is a fantastic coach and a brilliant mind but is a lot like Elon with his spoiled child syndrome antics on the Asberger’s spectrum and is toxic AF!

The SEC can funnel money into an in state program that would compete directly with them for in state recruits and bury them long term.
If they really want to hurt LSU. They can do it.
