Y'all mistake national implications for rivalry status. This is not the case.

Texas owns aTm, rarely did it have any national relevance, but despite what WestCoastAg says, it is most certainly a rivalry.

Jeesh, big games don't equal rivals.

every sec west team is a rival by definition. Competing against each other to achieve the same goal is a rival. Alabama is as much of a rival as Miss State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Auburn and Tamu.

if you all had a real rival it would be easier to explain how you aren't one of ours.

God, our fans are embarrassing. Alabama has one true rivalry game: Auburn. It's not hard to understand.

TSIO is bigger for Tennessee than it is Alabama. LSU-Alabama has routinely been the most significant regular-season game in the conference since about 2009, and that's it. That does not make a rivalry.

A rivalry is also in place when the two teams are about equal. When LSU wins about 25 in a row to narrow the gap in the all-time series, it will be a rivalry. LSU has no true rivalry. Quit with the friggin' trolling and/or lack of understanding about college football and the SEC.

Agreed. LSU and Bama are not historical rivals. It is a huge game for both but AU and UT are Bamas rivals

LSU is about to get doubled up this year. Auburn and Tennessee are Bama's rivals because they have respectable records against Bama. LSU has 25 wins and soon to be 50 losses Bama.

The fan bases don't really interact outside of all of the Louisiana oil field trash that vacation in Gulfshores. Bama and Auburn fans live amongst each other. There are tons Bama fans in Middle Tennessee and lots of Tennessee fans in North Alabama.

LSU would have to be more competitive over a longer period of time.

The game with LSU recently has become back and forth, but that doesn't mean it's a rivalry. I don't wish anything bad on the LSU football program, and I don't mind it when LSU wins games so long as it doesn't negatively impact us.

I want Auburn and Tennessee to lose every game, even if it's a volleyball game. I don't really care about what LSU does in other sports other than experiencing the glory of a Tiger Rant melt.

Lol, the majority of your fanbase is complete trash. Louisiana is an international tourism destination, some subpar beaches in Bama are not.

I'll be sure to tell my friends from London that visited during Jazz Fest that they missed out on Mullet Tossing and Talladega.

Schedule our bye week before each other EVERY SINGLE YEAR? I think this is the biggest matchup and rivalry in college football every year, Gumps just like to deny it. Guaranteed this game has the most ratings in the regular season this year. Oh and Gumps, LSU is coming to kick that arse, and yall know it. Yall scared...

Saban had four options based on the SEC schedule he was given by the SEC office. Those would have been week 2, 4, 9, 12. Saban isn't going to take a bye after only three games and he isn't going to wait until he's played 11 so really the week before LSU was the only logical choice. We could be playing vandy in two weeks and Bama is still taking the bye next week.

If you don't consider us a rival, why was Alabama (according to your biggest fan, Paul Finebaum) looking past Tennessee? I thought Tennessee was your biggest rival, second only to Auburn.
