Wasn’t Kiffin hired by LSU after Ole Miss’s last regular season game (and a few days before the Early Signing Period)?

Yeah, but Ole Miss wasn't going to basically exhibition games.

What other option was there?

Wait until the Ole Miss season(including playoffs) was over.

That part should have been shut down from Lane from day 1, rather than him turning it into a shite show circus that he fueled for the attention it gave him.

Furthermore, it makes him more attractive as a coach, not only to other schools, but also to recruits. Ole Miss at that point would have easily allowed him to stay without signing an extension as well, because the reason they wanted him to sign one was due to the circus he created around it.

Hell you'd probably be welcoming him right now without all the controversy and nobody would have thought much of anything about it, other than Ole Miss fans not being happy.

But hey, you got a month of extra recruiting and him being there, not sure to show for it. He went to your bowl game and left at half time after a media appearance. I was watching the Texas/Michigan game and noticed Whittingham watching the entire thing, getting involved in the team/school, watching and learning the players, and so on.

until said coaches sign a contract with LSU, they are still under contract at Ole Miss.

They're all under contract with LSU.

It's amazing how many people are too lazy or stupid to look this up before speaking so confidently.

Per LSU's AD, they were willing to wait.

Per Ole Miss insiders, their AD forced a decision after the Egg Bowl.

I rarely disagree with you. Same in this instance. Saban booted Kiffin same as Ole Miss. at the right time. Maybe not for the short term but the long term.

Right now the starters at Ole Miss have had enough of the Kiffin circus. They are tired of him trying to take credit for their accomplishments and trying to make it about him. They have been quoted as such. Like him trying to be on the telecast for the Sugar Bowl.

Because Lane created a circus around it because he makes everything about him and craves attention/drama.

If he shut it down from day 1, Ole Miss has no reason to do that. As it was, they would have been stupid not too.

Kiffin created the situation.

Examples?

He said he'd discuss jobs after the season, how else can you shut it down?

How did he create a circus around this job search to cause the ultimatum?

Folks say that but no one can list any specific examples.

Because people don't save links, make lists or anything else like that just so they can prove to some doofus on a message board it happened.

Everyone knows it happened, everyone knows why. It didn't happen with any other coach/school for a reason. Stop playing stupid.

I remember him being unnaturally quiet about the whole thing.

I don't know what you're talking about at all.

As you all told us over and over, this was different than those situations.

He was going to a conference rival.

It looked to me like Ole Miss knew he wanted to coach in the playoff and tried to use that as leverage to keep him.

Tulane and JMU were in no position to do that.

So LsU and kiffin are saying these guys need to be in Baton Rouge for the portal, but they were ok with kiffin himself coaching ole miss through the playoffs?
