Comparing Petrino’s situation at Arky with Lane’s at USC is wild.

He’d pick LSU but otherwise stay at Ole Miss.

Kiffin was unfairly terminated at USC. He got the job at the worst possible time, with USC down 30 scholarships.

After this season he will be top 7 or even higher top paid coach

You sure? I’ve never heard that. I’ve heard that he told Auburn no but I’ve never heard that LSU even called him.

Yeah, it was a few years ago.

Do you have a link or a source on that?

If Florida is such an easy job, why have the only coaches that won NC are Spurrier and Meyer? Mullen had first hand knowledge and experience with a Florida championship program. Something is wrong with Florida ...besides NIL checks bouncing. I understand programs go through coaching deserts...
see Auburn... but LSU has had multiple coaches win NC and no one is saying Les Miles and Orgeron are coaching legends
The only jobs I can see him taking are the big 3 Texas, Bama, or Ohio State where there are no limits on resources and money. Money isn't an issue for him. He has Ole Miss in a place where he can put his legacy on a program. If Clemson can win a NC, he can win a NC at Ole Miss in this era of NIL .. there is no dominant team that steamrolls everyone because they are 3 deep with 5 star players. You only need to have a few key players in certain positions and a decent defense, on any given day anyone can beat anyone now.

Do not think the "big three" will be open soon.
But FSU, UF, Auburn will prob be
UF will def..literally number 1 on most hot seat rankings. I would be shocked if he is not fired this year as would most CFB analysis predict.

He had accepted the Auburn job last time around, then recanted due to his children - which, IMO, is good reasoning. Can’t fault him for that. Family comes first. I think he would stay at Ole Miss. He has job safety and good trajectory there.
He might have been leaning towards taking it but according to the man himself he had not decided yet upon seeing that slideshow, but the slideshow did convince him to stay at Ole Miss.

Very easy to get..AC became affordable. That is when all three big schools in Florida starting winning..very, very, very easy to understand. See the State's population in the 70s compared to 2000s..not even close at all.
