Are you implying Alabama did?

Very rarely are jobs "offered" if both parties have not agreed on it before hand. Which would mean one party backed out last minute.

But no, I don't think Alabama wanted Kiff last year.

But bookmark this. If/when LK stays at OM, both schools UF and LSU will both claim he was never offered.

I think he was interested but his buyout it fricking absurd. $23 million if he leaves and he supposedly also has Nike stock tied into his deal with Oregon

Wow, unless you already knew that was your forever job, I'm not sure I would have tied that into as part of my compensation. But I don't know the details of it so it maybe coach friendly.

Oregon and Phil Knight were tired of coaches getting poached, especially after Cristobal. So they decided they would go hire the best coordinator in the country at the time, give him a very handsome contract and the promise of patience as he learned the ropes of being the head coach. The only “catch” was a massive buyout and the stock options.

Because who the frick would want to coach Bama immediately after Saban

DeBoer. The guy who played in the national championship game a week before being hired.

Yep, I've heard it said by some insiders who typically have good intel that because of that issue it would be cold day in hell before Kiffin gets an offer from Bama ... but that could change as more time passes and that's what Kiffin counting on.

Same people said that Sark was approached immediately after Saban announced his retirement but at that time he was very happy at Texas - bet he regrets that now.

Every bit of this was pulled out of your arse.

Kiffin isn’t an ugly dude but I just don’t understand how he was ... being able to pull a booster’s wife

I've seen more than I want to from co-workers over the years of spouses cheating and it's surprising how little looks is a motivator in those cases. More times than not I'm saying to myself "you're cheating on your 8 spouse with a 4 or 5??" But there are always other factors that get uncovered as the real cause. So not knowing what goes on in the home of the booster in question, it's hard to say why Kiffin was able to.

Regardless though it was a bone-headed decision by Kiffin regardless of the reason - "don't shite where you eat" and all.

Anytime you see a woman, no matter how hot she may be - there is some other guy who is sick and tired of putting up with her shite.

Bama didn’t offer Kiffin the job.

Thanks Brother. My memory is shot.

He wasn't offered. Ole Miss was the best offer he had. Now that he has been successful at Ole Miss, he will get better offers and will leave. I don't know where he ends up and whether it will be next year or 3 years for now, but he isn't staying at Ole Miss unless he ends up struggling.

Kiffin apparently banged a big time booster's wife, which has prevented him from being a serious candidate here.

If this was true, we would know who. Tuscaloosa is a small town. That kind of story gets out.

I love Deboer. I think he will be at Bama for a long, long time. However, it would be very entertaining if LSU was to hire Lane not for Bama to come take him away in a year or 2. I don’t think LSU fans could handle that happening. Lol

He didn’t want the job. He just couldn’t turn down the offer.

I don't think any of that is true

Oh no, there was definitely something to it. not gonna say who I know it from personally for privacy reasons, but I can confirm his reputation at the time was not the best from a personal perspective. He wanted to stay at Bama longer as a coordinator and was so pumped after the championship game but it was not renewed for a reason. He’s definitely straightened out at Ole Miss and I’m glad Layla is back in his life at least.
