If it’s all about record/wins vs ranked opponents….

Gumps want to offer that their 3-1 record should put them in the playoffs….
Well, considering….
Texas is 0-2 vs the top 25
Penn State is 1-2 vs the top 25
Indiana is 0-1
The I say who cares about our 3 losses unranked teams, the LSU Fighting Tigers and our mighty 2-1 record vs the TOP 25 belong in the playoffs!!!!
For those slow on the uptake that don’t realize Im being facetious, I would downvote myself if I honestly suggested such a thing.

So you honestly don’t think LSU could beat Indiana or Penn State?

Put us in, at least we beat Vandy and Oklahoma.

Texas has the weakest schedule of all teams in the SEC and it's still nearly twice as difficult as SMU. If you consider todays opponents, it will be more than twice as difficult.
It's true that Texas has no ranked wins, but the quality of teams they beat is still much better than SMU.
Indiana should not be in the playoffs.
Penn St should probably be ranked around 9.

That’s a good point. What is the formula at this point? Is it conference championships or an NCAA bracketology scenario?
No one seems to know. Even all of the media predictions in the last hour has been all over the place. With most assumptions being conference champs minus Clemson as the top 4. Including Boise St.

All valid and reasonable points.
But at the end of the day - Bama’s argument that, it’s losses to 6-6 Vandy and 6-6 Oklahoma (by 21) should not matter, because they were 3-1 vs the Top 25.
So by that logic, should LSU’s losses to 5-7 USC, 8-4 A&M and 7-5 UF not matter because LSU was 2-1 vs the Top 25?

So what you’re saying is LSU would still be behind Bama?

Vandy + OU loses by 21

Not sure about Indiana but we would lose 6 out of 10 to Penn State this year.

The 2 losses you mention are why Alabama is #11 instead of #5.
This is from last week. Where does SMU fit in it? Basically where Miami is, 60+ SoS. 0-2 Ranked W-L, 0 Unranked losses.

LSU would have an argument, but their coaching turmoil spoils it for them. If we knew who would be leading the team next year, maybe it would be different.
