Then the staff would have done more to keep Dameyune Craig around.

Jacobs is giving Gus a golden parachute on his way out the door. And since every coach since Shug Jordan is still on the payroll, that means Gus' buyout is coming out of the pockets of the people.

This is not a way to handle finances. Especially considering the proposed upgrades to JHS.

Jay Jacobs is shameful, and a poor reflection on AU as a respectable institution and athletic program. Guys like him have no business in the SEC. Its time for AU people to break out the pitchforks and get your heads out of the sand.

Farr his arse!

Gus learned from Nutt how to get a golden parachute

Football 2015 record: 7–6 (2–6 SEC)
Basketball 2015–16 record: 11–20 (5–13 SEC)
Baseball: 23-33 (8-22 SEC)

I think he's doing a fine job.

why is this a common phrase from bama fans?

and why do you act as if you give a shite about "what's best for auburn?"

CDC wasn't the only recruiter on our staff. In fact statistically in his time at Auburn he wasn't the best recruiter on staff. He did get Tre Williams and Duke (who imploded) Williams. Other than that we have a lot of hope in his WR class who haven't done a thing yet. His best get for Auburn from a production stand point is either Marcus Davis or Tony Stevens. Let that sink in!!!

I am only using facts. His two best gets at Auburn to date both have the last name Williams. Tre has produced less but a fool could see his potential. Dukes gains were out weighed by his flaws last year. That leaves an argument between Tony and Marcus for best gets. He is a great recruiter, but I have long believed he lived off of stealing JW from bama. Rhett has some pretty impressive gets as well as a recruiter. I believe Horton and ole RG probably have recruited the most actual help for our team over the last 4 cycles.

What I was mainly pointing out is the signing day gets don't mean much if they don't produce...

I wasn't aware of anybody we've lost with Craig gone? Gus hired some pretty good recruiters though.
I'm amazed about how much attention a simple contract extension has garnered from our rivals though.

The goal of a good recruiter is getting the best players on campus.

The goal of the staff as a whole is development.

Gus doesn't know how to develop what he gets on signing day.

I think that was a "him or me" situation with Gus. No way Dameyune was going to win that one.

Pick a side. Great recruiter? Or average recruiter living off landing 1 or 2 kids?

Can't have it both ways.

I think everyone would agree it was an odd time to extend his contract.
