Of course, this didn't happen. The woman didn't choke herself. She didn't punch holes in her own walls. None of that happened. She is in an abusive relationship and is covering for her abuser like thousands of other abused women do every day.

This is not remotely funny. Many abused women change their stories and drop charges, generally b/c of fear.

Most athletes have criminal charges dramatically reduced.

I agree 100%. See the Junior Galette situation - perfect example of a scorned woman fabricating a story to get revenge on a man without consequence.

If Taylor didn't have the baggage from UGA, he might have a chance at reinstatement. I doubt that he has any chance to get back on the team...and it's probably in the best interests of both him and UA at this point.

He will make a NFL roster in a couple of years. Hope he gets himself straightened out in the meantime.

The way of the world, Tuscaloosa style.

1. The woman is physically assaulted.

2. The woman is threatened to change story.

3. The woman is put in jail.

Nothing to see here. Business as usual.

I actually agree.

Unfortunately, I think Saban is in a truly lose-lose situation. Not the kind I feel bad for him for- he should have never offered Taylor in the first place since he had unresolved violent criminal charges.

But all things equal to what they were before the allegations, he shouldn't be kicked off for a recanted story.

But when it comes back down to it, this is a PR disaster and the smart choice for the program may be to pass him by.
