that was one of those small games. they struggle with conf teams that aren't suppose to be good.

of course osu is now on the verge of winning the pac 10 but at the time they were left for dead.

i would love to see this game. if bama can score some points i think they would win. Bamas D is better than USCs offense and they would crush Joe Mcknight. i say Bama wins 21-17

USC has virtually NO CHANCE of playing in the Sugar Bowl. Fiesta bowl gets to pick its at large team before Sugar bowl does. Fiesta would absolutely select USC. No way in hell they would take Ohio St. or Utah over USC. USC is playing in either the Rose bowl or Fiesta.

The Sugar would choose USC BEFORE Alabama and force the Fiesta to choose Texas/Texas Tech with their first pick, then an unbeaten Utah with their second pick. I highly doubt the Fiesta would turn their backs on their unbeaten, 4th ranked neighbor to the north, when Bama will fall to #7 or #8 with their butt whipping from Florida.

SC hasn't lost by more than a touchdown in 7 years so there goes that idea. Carroll has only lost 1 big game his entire career. Lets see what Bama can do what they see a real defense. Running it up on UGA and not being able to move the ball on LSU isn't all that impressive this year

Giving up 200 yds rushing to a 5-6 Stanford team while beating up teams with a combined 42-51 record isn't all that impressive this year. Hoping that someone loses so you can win your conference isn't all that impressive this year.

They were playing without D-Mac..... Arky was probably the third best team in the West that year IMO, everything broke well for them in conference play.
eta:But yeah, they weren't poor.

It would just be another game to Saban and the players. AND it would be a butt whippin. We would dominate USC and expose their crappy defense.

You say this like Bama has this overpowering offense.Wake up dude.

They dominate in BCS games for a reason
Three of their last six bowl games have been vs. Big Ten's #2 team!

I mean, good, but not close to their ranking.
Alabama has the #103 schedule in the country. You have a point.

USC is the best big game team in the country bar none. They dominate in BCS games for a reason; they have special athletes and Carroll is amazing in big games

Just because USC beat the crap out of a high school team (Ohio State) doesn't mean much when it comes to real football.

Exposing USC's defense? No. We're not some kind of offensive juggernaut. But, we would be able to run the ball successfully. USC's chances to beat Bama would be slim to none. They would get owned on the lines.

Alabama has the #103 schedule in the country. You have a point.

Opponents: .396

So Cal opponents
42-51 .451%

games to be played
ND 6-4
UCLA 4-6
Best win Oregon 8-3

Bama's opponents
51-61 .455%

games to be played
Auburn 5-6
Florida 9-1
Best win Georgia 9-2

Auburn will bring it down, Florida will bring it up.

It doesn't matter whether you think Bama is weak or not. If you are undefeated in the SEC at week 11, you should be ranked #1 PERIOD!!

that is such stupid thinking.

teams win games and lose games.

does usc > bama mean pac 10 > sec?

frick no

I think Bama or Fla will beat USC, lock down USC's overrated Offense, and both will shock the media by rolling up season highs in yards and points vs USC's very legit D.

If USC winds up in the dome, I'm going, and I'll be there with two LSU grad friends that love Bama as their 2nd favorite team, going back to the Bear era.

SEC!
