re: If Bama doesn't fall out of playoffs with a loss, should UGA keep top 4 seed with a loss?

This logic is retarded imo, "we won't move a team down, but we'll move teams up (by moving others down)"

Should they fall out of the top four? Yes, since they are at 3 now. Will they? I doubt it

Bama will be in because if losing a conference championship game bumps an SEC team from the playoff, it will kill conference championship games and forever restructure college football.

Why should a team be penalized for losing a championship game?
If Alabama had another school’s name on their jersey (say, LSU), would you feel the same?
Alabama’s chances of winning it all this year are extremely low. Just be patient, we will get knocked out sooner or later. The committee doesn’t have to screw us.

You have this much biased Bama hate? I just assumed the person who ran this site would be a little more reasonable. Kind of depressing.

I'm not just talking about Alabama… I'm also talking about Georgia… Don't you think it would be absurd that if Georgia gets crushed by Bama, they might still keep their bye?
This isn't a Alabama or Georgia criticism,, but more of a criticism of the playoff committee in general

No. But what we don’t need to see is a OSU vs Indiana championship. Indiana would get TCU’ed

Sometimes you are asking if they lose and sometimes you are asking if they get blown out. A large blow out might matter. As might the coach or starting qb getting murdered after the game.
However, even with a blowout, it would raise the question of why a team that is in the playoff should risk their spot in a conference championship game when everyone else is resting at home.
Let’s just all hope for a close game so we don’t have to find out.

If Bama and BYU both get blitzed, by over 20 points and not in a “UGA pulled away in the 4th Q with a surprise onside kick” type of blitzed, then ND and Miami may both make it. If it’s within 17 points, Bama is in.

Can we at least agree the Bama shouldn't be automatically in?

They won’t. It would be OSU, Indiana, TT, and Bama then

Anyone else feel like Chicken is purposefully asking dumb questions? OSU won a NC with their 3rd string QB. If Bama wins, we’re in regardless.
If we lose and lose QB, that could get dicey

I just forgot about the ACC
ACC might get left out all together. AQ goes to the 5 highest ranked conference champs. Tulane and James Madison are both ranked and both playing for conference championships, I believe.
Neither team in the ACC championship will be ranked.
Miami is the only ACC team with a hope, and they need some assistance, IMO.

Nah, they won’t leave UVA out with a win. Duke will almost certainly get left out
Edit: UVA is currently ranked above all the G5s

Would probably help Bama's chances at this point tbh

They had that chance to prove it…had 2 or 3 bad games. Unknown is better than known in that case
