Only way he might get canned is if we completely collapse (i.e. 3-4 wins). But as for the poster that wrote the NC bought Chiz this year and the next, screw that. The natty bought him last year and this year. I don't think it happens, but if we were to go 6-6, the heat would be on for a 10-win season next year. Simple as that. Especially if our defense continues to be the downfall of this team. It would be one thing if the defense improved each week and the offense couldn't do anything. But if the offense produces and we continue to give up 30+ points and 500+ yards per game, my patience with Chiz will have run out. With the way we've recruited, there's absolutely no reason for this defense to be this bad (yes, I understand learning a new system -- an NFL system, really -- will take a little time, but that has nothing to do with tackling, fits, etc.)

It's time for him to show he can win games here without Cam and the largest senior class in our history.

It's not like they're going to get anyone better mid-season. They will be lucky to get anyone better period. shite they had to pull him off the D list

I think Chiz is good this year and next. He is a lot like Richt at UGa - a good man and has a stable moral center. I do believe they will struggle this year, but will have moments of hope.

Irrelevant. Auburn isn't losing to Moo State.

If Alabama loses the next two of their games will Saban make it to the end of the year?

Is Dee Liner playing at his high school?

Oh, can you really say that the offense is improving? I mean, you did play a pretty bad Clemson defense (at least based last year) the other day. I'm not sure you will know how good the O is until a few conference games.

Also, how did Corey Grant do the other day? Heard he may have been hurt.

Only way he gets fired by the end of the year is if Auburn somehow falls apart mentally because physically and talent wise on average can be a 6-6, 7-5 team easy, so like 5-7 or 4-8 Gene might be packing his bags

If they lose against MSU, I don't see any way they escape the front half of their schedule any better than 1-4.

That will be a ton of pressure at that point, and if Alabama and Georgia hold serve as well, it's a 6 loss season with bowl eligibility riding on the ability to sweep games @ Vanderbilt and home vs TAMU-- and I think, even if the doors mostly come off, those are still Auburn wins.

Don't be ridiculous. Auburn just won a NC in 2010. And honestly, Auburn's young OL looked pretty damn good considering it was the first college football game for several of them. Also, Frazier is the real deal. MSU should be glad that aren't playing Auburn toward the end of the season.

Yes, he's a great coach. He needs to stay forever! It's a God Thing. You don't just go and break up a Family. What the hell's wrong with you?

This unit needs to stay just as it is right down to the backwards cap on Trooper's head!

11 of 27 passing. 70% of his completions and 90% of his yards were to two people. Then you factor in the difference between Clemson's D and MSU's D.

You can't fire a coach within 2 years of a National Championship as long as he seriously hasn't violated ethics.

(See Dubose firing from Bama 8 games after '99 SEC Title. He'll get another year)

I just can't figure out how a highly regarded defensive minded coach like Chiz can't field a respectable defense in 3+ years. He knew when he took the job that you needed a strong defense to compete in this league. We should not be saying he just needs to get some defensive talent into the program 4 recruiting cycles later.. Emphasis should have been put on recruiting quality lb's and db's 4 years ago. We seem to be loaded with tons of offensive skill position talent, but they can't all have the ball in their hands at the same time. Move a few of those guys over to defense and see how they do there.
