If Auburn left for the East, then we would have to still play LSU every year, as well.

Big-6 tax.
Auburn would then have Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and LSU on our schedule each year.
...As God ordained at the creation of the SEC in 1932.
The Big-6 should always play the Big-6.
Leaving out LSU would be an affront to SEC modesty. Let the rest of the Little 8 fight out their own schedules.

Auburn lost to 4 of those 5 teams last year.

And?
Going on almost 80 years of "last years" now.
Who cares? These are our traditional rivals.

with that schedule every year, Auburn would quickly become one of the little 8.

We gladly and consistently had that schedule for decades, son.
We had Georgia Tech for over 90 years, every single year, too.
Tradition.
Not to be disrespectful, but Auburn has done its part in the past to set up and play these games. We have recently let things slide due to expansion.
You guys must not remember the old SEC?

You can’t escape big brother Bama’s shadow. Keep being a basketball school. Consolation prizes are better than no prizes at all.

LSU and Auburn played only 26 times between 1901-1992. Run away to the East. LSU will survive without Auburn.

I agree with this. The big 6 games are the most intriguing by far. The others provide entertainment, but it’s the big six games that make the Saturday’s during the fall meaningful, and memorable.

Yep, and LSU would still whip your arse more often than not.

I said, very clearly, that...Auburn...would...continuously...like...to...play...LSU.
What form of retardation do you have?

Moving Auburn to the East would be the logical approach. Let the Little 8 figure things out for themselves.
Quality and Tradition over Quantity.
The current method is going to kill the SEC going forward in relation to history.

I agree completely.
Texag7 will not be happy when he realizes that his aggots aren’t included.

Of course I do. I remember when the conference only played 6 league games. My first Ole Miss game to attend was 1970 vs Houston. I was 5 years old.

Why? A big six tax doesn't exist. The league is obviously going to expand the schedule. Saban has a outsized voice and he is calling for more SEC games and P5 opponents filling out the remainder. Say the leagues goes to 9 SEC games. And AU goes east. UA is not stopping the Tennessee game. The SEC would likely bring on a rotation and permanent opponent combo out of the east and it would work for AU to go east only if that included Bama. Since that game gives you a reason to BE. And you would be hurt badly without it. So two perms and a rotation is the only workable way.
Aside from that Aggies under the current staff will absolutely crash any big whatever group. Leaving the east as a bigger weakling comparatively than it already is. You wanna go east for two reasons: weaker teams to compete against and recruiting. But only if you can keep your Iron bowl program maker. And Bama will not give up UT. Work from there.

Rehb why are you begging to move to the east now? To avoid some of those teams. Looks like you are not playing them "gladly" now.
