I also believe that it is generous to call Russell Wilson 5'11". I don't see that his skill set differs much from Murray either.

No, that dig on Murray because of his height wasn't well though out IMO.

Kid can play the position well.

Agreed but the comparison of Murray to Russell Wilson is awful IMHO. Russell is very unique. Great great feet and very mobile. Not a Michael Vick or RG3 but he can move and create things when the pocket collapses.

Not saying Murray doesnt have what it takes, I just don't see the comparison besides their height.

I vote we re visit this in November

although I do think it'd be a big year for SEC QBs

Murray would go 1 right now fwiw

then AJ

then a toss up

JFF will be highly scrutinized come draft time bc of all the BS

not trolling either

NFL looks into guys pretty hard

Metts problem is they don't like his footwork nor do I - he seems to almost always look like he is going to fall. Forward Backward Sideways.

It's horrible. But damn he throws a nice ball.

I think his draft stock skyrockets this year but he's gonna have a ton of work to do once he gets in the league. But he's got what it takes physically. Unless he has the worst feet ever, which to me looks like it might be a possibility.

Agree completely. He is on his feet better. Was awful last year. But he has such a cannon and size this keeps him in the race. This year will really make the difference.

In a thread earlier about Murray or Mett, I said Murray because if I was drafted I like how he moves around better. Mett is robotic and uncomfortable finding what he is looking for. How does this translate to pros I don't know. But if he keeps his footing under him and body on a good swivel he can have a Marino game IF he can make reads fast and release fast.

He has the tools - but they are choppy. If he can smooth them down he can be a pure pocket passer. But no movement. But a Cannon.

Fun year to watch Mett. Ga game will be fun.

Yea, Im not seeing that either. I was just commenting on the folks automatically counting him out because of his height.

This. Wilson does everything Murray does but better, and 10 times smarter.

Murray would be an absolute steal for a team on day 2 with a middle-older age veteran starter at QB. Give him a couple years behind a solid QB and Murray could be a very worthwhile starter in the NFL.

Wilson is one of my favorite players to watch in the NFL. It's hard sometimes to pinpoint what makes him so good. But when you see him march his team down the field, you feel like he's in total control of what's happening in front of him. Love watching him play. Quiet, hard competitor with great feet and a very accurate arm.

Watching some of you pick apart players like your a damn NFL scout is funny.

The SECr is full of experts

Eta looking at you bro

I played football at a 4A HS. And college basketball. And I admit I don't know shite about player development for either sport.

You guys should watch more college football then...

Murray's running ability

Just because he doesn't do it often, does not mean he cannot do it.

And yes, as a former college football scout, I can say the comparison is similar.

Russell at NC State did not have much more of a reputation than Aaron does now. When Russell went to Wisconsin and had pieces around him to compete at a higher level, he excelled. Much like he does now with Seattle. As Murray plays this senior year with good pieces around him, I can see much of the same maturation.

The thread is flameless 5 pages deep though. That's gotta mean something.

It could be worse man.

Would take this over the insta-flame nonsense that happens most of the time.

With all due respect to your past, I don't see how you can say Wilson wasn't hyped coming out of NC State during his decision between Auburn and Wisky.

People drooled over him before he stepped foot on campus in Madison.

I was talking about wrecking crue

dude acts like an NFL scout or something

maybe he is for all I know

All I know is I played college bball and people who didn't were always critiquing shite

Coaches always emphasized to not listen to friends or family. Bc fans should be fans

Oh, I'm solely a fan. Never have claimed more than that. I don't think I've ever once criticized players on here, may be said one player was better than another but I'm no scout or former college athlete

Know you weren't directing that at me, just blabbering about what you brought up.

Did not say he wasn't hyped out of NC State. I said that he had much the same rep as Aaron Murray. Are you saying that- hypothetically, if Aaron Murray decided before the season that a transfer was in his best interest, teams around the country would not "drool" over his potential?

He's my favorite NFL QB. Always in control. Does everything smooth and great decision maker.

Yes, teams would be flying to Athens from all over the place for Murray, if that were the case let's say this past winter with one year left.

But if you asked me which one I would've taken with one year of eligibility left, Wilson coming from NCSU or Murray from UGA, I would take Wilson in THAT scenario. Just personal opinion.
