Is he still a game manager in everyone's eyes, or has he proven enough over these three years to be considered an elite qb?

You think this one game is gonna sway someone's opinion of him, if the previous 3 years hasn't?
But to answer your question, I consider him an elite college QB...be interesting to see if the NFL pans out for him.

Insecure Bama fans are insecure

I'll remember him as the guy who could manage a game as good as the rest.

I view him as an elite college QB no matter how he plays tonight.

For the past 2 years I have considered him an elite QB. The dude is a stud.

A meaningless Sugar Bowl win/loss is going to alter someone's perception of him?

exactly.
and bama fans, first you take our trees and now you're trying to take our rant insecurity. This is why we can't have nice things.

I'm not saying that one game will change your perspective on him. I don't camp out on this website so I really don't know how people have viewed him the past couple years. All I remember is him being labeled a game manager after 2011, which is hard to argue.

Ha! He's an average talent QB, that has benefited from great talent around him.

his classlessness transcends his ability on the field

If Sugar Bowl= meaningless win/loss
Logic would dictate that Arkansas hasn't done anything meaningful in over 50 years. Should probably shut the whole program down and focus on things we do well. That list is long.

2. Indoor track

Eh, I look at McCarron as a really good QB who has benefited from great position talent, phenomenal O-lines and the best coaching in the country. He can make a lot of throws and has shown that he can be good in the clutch, but like you said, he's the benefactor of a great supporting cast.
He's not someone I'd take first overall in the draft, but I'd take him in the first round. He'd be really good in a good organization ala Roethlisberger and Flacco, but he's not someone I'd build my franchise around.

Elite or not, he will always have my respect as a player

I think the perspective playes into it.
Don't think many bama fans were shooting for the sugar bowl when the season started and they were ranked #1

LOL wut?
I meant "meaningless" in the context of AJ McCarron's career/season, not the bowl itself.
If he wins he Sugar Bowl, big deal, he has two NC rings; inversely, if he loses the Sugar Bowl, big deal, he has two NC rings.

This is what I was talking about.
Jesus, our sidewalk fans are the dumbest.

I'll change my view if he throws for 400 plus and 3-4 TDs.
