If Alabama can find a way to win tomorrow this will be Saban's best job ever.

He would have managed to cut and paste and patch a defense with roughly half of the players raw rookies together well enough to compete with the # 1 or 2 ranked club in America. One with the by far top player in the country at this point. And lead by a genius offensive mind (Brady) who will soon have his own team. We'll see.

If Alabama loses which by all logic they should then it will say two things: College football is a rough sport and at some point the greatest coach in the game is going to run out of fingers to stick into the holes in the dike. And LSU was good enough to take advantage of the opportunity and they are yes, plenty damned good and explosive. Bring it on.

It is a lot easier when you have the #1 recruiting class every year.

Beating a team that has never made the most important post season event in college football history will not be his "best job ever"

It is expected. Its an exhibition to prepare for real football.

Yep those recruiting classes of 1,1,1,1,6 have taken their toll. LOL

What would be interesting is to see Saban with Average talent.

I agree. Saban really has underachieved considering he fields the most talented roster vs every team he plays.

He's left 5 championships on the table. Kind of hard to look past it.

And loses more to the NFL every year. That's the ultimate curse of recruiting well. You never have as many 4 and 5 year vets as the people you play. BTW, Georgia had the greatest recruiting class in the history of the sport just two years ago and has far and away the most five star athletes on their roster than anyone. And a count last off season showed Bama and LSU with the eact same number of 5 stars on their respective rosters. And LSU is certainly playing like it this season.

Great thing about college sports are you get a new team each year and what you did or did not do in past years won't cut it. LSU has as much raw talent on the roster (same number of star athletes) as does UA. And at key spots on defense up front they have far and away more depth, experience and ready to play guys. At some point that has to show up mister. We'll soon see. I believe in Bama's staff, but it's the athlete's that have run out there and play. And this is the first time in many years that I just don't see UA with an edge.

They've got this Aranda and Brady. We counter with Golding and the ex USC guy who has been fired multiple times but we've got the little man. None are going to play.
