We were 12th all time in wins when Saban was hired. We're now 11th.

Few programs can match them, but we're still a traditional power and top 10 all-time program.

I can also spell out, in excruciating detail, how we are far superior to Texas A&M in each and every way if that's what you want.

And somehow we are still 28-20-3 against TAMU

cas4t, do you consider the winning of a crystal football to be the sole indicator variable as to whether or not a team ought to be characterized as "successful?" Genuinely curious what you think.

I rarely see Ags on this website bring up the horns. I think you're perpetuating a manufactured talking point. That being said, we've got a ridiculously long & rich history with 'em; so they'll probably come up in conversation from time to time.

Absolutely, tiger. But that wasn't my question.

If you want to be a true first tier program than eventually you're going to have to hoist one up.

Retroclaiming 1913 and 1920-whatever also makes you look pretty bad and like a wannabe.

That's the highest honor. But success could be winning your conference too.

For instance, Arky hasn't done either (at least in a very long time) yet they've beaten some good teams over the last 5-10 years and had good bowl games.

But Arky =/= successful

That may indeed be the case; though I've found "nobody," "everybody," "always," "never," and "classy," to be the most overused words on the Interweb.

I don't think Ags care whether you care or not; but on a football message board, it's not unheard of for a fan of a school to occasionally reference a team they've faced for 100+ years.

I can answer that. Before the start of this season, TAMU has 31 losses since 2007 and 0 conf champ.

LSU has 14 losses, 2 conf titles and 1 nat champ

Bama has 11 losses, 1 conf title and 2 nat champ.

Tell me the "successful" programs out of these 3.

It's great that Sumlin and JFF have turned the corner for your program, but until beating teams like Bama actually count for something other than finishing 3rd in the SEC West you should probably lay off the maroon kool-aid.

you can say that about every team. Perhaps LSU beats UF and Bama but loses to aTm. Or aTm loses to tech. Maybe Bama doesnt come out flat and beats you. Hindsight is 20-20. pointless thread.

Successful to me is being competitive for West invite to ATL on a consistent basis. By competitive I mean one of the favorites, not 'well, if the stars align". If this is true, other things fall into place...good bowl invites, 10/11 win season, etc.

And you are not LSU. think we've proven that the last 2 times we played you. Welcome to 3rd place in the west troll.
