If 4th and 25 does not happen, who is the 4th team in the playoff?

Possibilities:

1. Ole Miss: SEC champions who avenge their earlier loss to Florida, but still have the Memphis loss hanging over them. Big road win over Bama to boost their resume.

2. Stanford: 2 loss Pac 12 champions with several good wins, but losses to Northwestern and Oregon.

3. Ohio State: defending national champ with 1 close loss to a playoff team, but horrible schedule outside of that game and no conference title.

4. Alabama: The eye test says that they are one of the 4 best teams (Vegas favorites against anyone), but do they deserve it? Lost to the eventual SEC champions, but have the best strength of schedule of any playoff contender.

This would be one heck of a debate for the committee. 2 Big Ten teams in the playoff? Bama over Ole Miss despite head to head loss and OM having the title?

If it had not happened, Ole Miss still would have dropped another game somehow.

They are Ole Miss. They suck. They will never be winners. They should be shunned and banished from the SEC.

Academics - suck
Athletics - suck
Goofy, elitist, rich-boy frat kids - too many
Haircuts - awful

They are losers. They should be treated as such and cast out of the SEC and forced to merge with USJW in an aggregated pool of failure.

Bama. The CFP committee would have to admit OU has one loss and no title game and that one play doesn't make Bama a worse team.

Ohio St, only loss to a playoff team and defending national champs.

1 loss SEC winner doesn't get left out IMO

too bad they'd have been a two loss team. They'd get left out.

I think they would have gone with Stanford because it would have been the least controversial.

Would have loved to find out.

With your track record of being wrong this season that tells us that no way Stanford was getting in. You have been as accurate as Peej.
