If you're in a non-pro sports state, then Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, etc is the main attraction.
CFB predates the big 4 sports in these places.

I didn't go to Mizzou. I went elsewhere.....but I grew up listening to Bill Wilkerson on KMOX and that's where my fandom began.
