I haven't been to NOLA since I was a little kid. I take it I shouldn't waste my time on Bourbon if I ever go back?

No, there's a lot of other, much better, places to hang out.

aren't you from LA, went to Bammer, moved here for work and constantly bitching about how shitty it is here and can't wait to get out?

Good fricking point. They were probably incredibly grateful to have you. Plus a lot of places don't open on Thanksgiving/Bayou Classic weekend. This is the weekend a bartender would rather look for a new job than work.

I have friends that worked downtown in the service industry during the holidays. The bartender was more than likely joking with you and you thought they were being serious since you felt overcharged for your beer. Stay away from the tourist traps that charge you $36 for one well drink (yes, $36).

Since they are selling so much food, being that it is a busy weekend, expect to be skimped on your pepperonis or find another place to buy your pizza. Or heaven forbid, ask for extra pepperoni and pay extra.

I think I was like, eight. I really didn't appreciate the town. There was no six flags.

WTF. You come to NOLA and order Pizza. You deserve whatever you get and beers are not cheap in the Quarter.

I'll give you some advice. Walk down Bourbon towards Esplanade and when you start seeing the rainbow flags you will find what you are looking for. Maybe some nice guy/shim will buy your overly priced beers and you will get lucky.

Half my family is from Louisiana, and the good half is from Alabama. I graduated from Alabama and moved back here for my job several years ago (which is weird, because most college graduates do leave the state). I haven't "bitched" about how shitty anything is. It is true however that tourism is New Orleans chief industry, and that tourism is down. I never said it was in the toilet, but I know tons of people that have struggled since Katrina, especially the first few years after.

Why does this offend you?

I'm not offended in the least but preBama/LSU I remember you going off on how shitty this state is in a thread.

Don't act like you didn't say it. If you don't like it here, quit your job and GTFO
