I thought the Aggie defense was supposed to be good

I was concerned about LSU's chances to score considering they've struggled to run the ball behind a makeshift offensive line plus the fact that they were missing their best offensive player, Kayshon Boutte.
Combine all that with a first time OC who has made some major blunders this year.
However, LSU shockingly gained 400+ yards of total offense with 100+ coming on the ground and matched their season average of points scored per game at 27, interestingly enough, the same amount of points they scored the week prior against Louisiana Monroe.
What happened to the "new" Wrecking Crew, Aggie?

It looks like the new Wrecking Crew is ranked at 4th nationally in scoring defense, giving up an average of 16 points per game.
I'm baffled that a bunch of backups were able to match their season average of 27 points per game vs that group, the exact amount of points they scored the week prior vs Louisiana Monroe although LSU did manage to rush for more yards against A&M than Monroe.
