I thought adding Missouri meant they were bringing a quality basketball program

Since they’ve been added to the SEC, they’ve been very underwhelming. I wasn’t expecting another Kentucky but I figured them coming from the Big12 and being in the Midwest, they’d bring more to the table than what they’ve brought.

The Midwest sucks at basketball except Kansas and Indiana. All of the other states, outside of the inner cities prioritize football over basketball

They’ve never even been to a Final Four

Underwhelming is an understatement. I think they’ve finished last place like 3 or 4 times already

Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, and Michigan all seem like solid basketball states.

Missouri has added nothing to the SEC outside of comedy material.

LOL Michael Sam. He was an NFL draft pick then came out a week before the draft and nobody wanted him. What a fool. He should have waited till after he was drafted to come out.

3rd best basketball program All time in the SEC according to the AP polls. You would have loved us the 2 years before we got into the SEC.

Missouri has been a disappointment all around athletic wise.

I thought they'd bring more.

We didn’t know they were gonna hire Cuonzo. Definitely downgraded their program.

LSU and Bama laugh at y’all. Mizzou has been a major flop.

I actually like the addition. Missouri opened the SEC to 2 big media markets, is a solid academic institution, and has been better than A&M in football

I was talking about their basketball program. Not their media and academic additions.

Obviously they open up the STL & KC markets.

You are looking at this the wrong way. Mizzou's poor performance in SEC hoops makes the conference look tougher given the expectation that Mizzou would perform relatively well, as it generally did in the Big 8/Big 12.

Basketball has been disappointing. But I’d argue along with Louisville to the ACC, A&M and Mizzou have been the best conference additions this century

Missouri and Arkansas should be a basketball rivalry for the ages. Instead both teams have been mediocre at best for years. Its baffling that the flagship teams from two states that churn out a ton of basketball talent are both doing poorly.

The consensus here is that Missouri exceeded expectations with football, however, they have massively underperformed in basketball.
