For the most part. There are a few people here I doubt function very well in real life.

I have traveled my fair share and there is no end of SEC fans that you run into. You always have a few that get out of place but most just have fun with it.

We even met some older purple people on top of Pike's Peak in 2009. Both dressed in gear and we in ours. The lady came up to my wife and wanted her to know she thought we had a good softball team. Given we had just won the football natty, I thought that was nice.

Nitro is textbook example of the usual Bama poster here. He just can't resist posting about LSU and its fans. Bama could win every championship and have the best players at every position and win every award (many of them believe this is actually the case, but that's another topic), but they would still come here to post about LSU.

Nah. I see how triggered LSU fans get. It's super fun and easy to watch you all get upset. You think we obsess, but we don't. At least I don't. It's just a lot of fun. That's all. Plus, for the most part, LSU fans are good sports. They also know how to fire back and keep things interesting.

I could easily say the same thing about LSU fans here, but I won't. No sense in going round and round and finger pointing. We should all learn to take this board in stride. Lol

Seriously though, there are a few fans that go way over the top and truly seem to obsess. Some of those are LSU fans by the way. People like that are easy to spot. I feel bad for them because they clearly have issues.

In 2011,I was working in Chalmette along a Boh Bros crew. Once they announced the rematch, the entire crew quit saying my name, and only referred to me as "Bama" for the next month, and not in a friendly, welcoming tone.

The only thing that made me mad, was my last day on that project was the Friday before that game. I really wanted to talk some shite after that arse whipping.

That would certainly give you guys an excuse to make more threads about LSU.

Agree with you. In the oilfield and just about every LSU fan I deal with are good people. Anonymous internet folks aren’t representative of real fans in general.

I’m of the opinion that the worst of every fan base on the rant probably never go to a game. Some have never stepped on the campus of their “school”.

I moved to Louisiana from Alabama 40 years ago... and was immediately surprised how vitriolic LSU fans were toward Alabama even back then. God.. the things some of them said about Charlie Mac and Coach Bryant..

In Alabama we hardly ever gave LSU a second thought except on game week... They were just an odd, but exotic school on the edge of the conference with strange names and accents... good football but ... really a semi- foreign country, not even truly “southern” except up north.

But living down here things escalated after Coach Saban came to Alabama (admittedly Alabama was pretty spotty from 1980-Saban). I began to get unprovoked slams from my LSU friends about Alabama.. name calling, accusations of cheating, refs, SEC office, on and on...

Today, I STILL didn’t think of LSU as a true rival... at least not like the barn and Tennessee. And my friends in Alabama still don’t pay much attention to LSU. They are really surprised when i tell them how freaking obsessed LSU fans are with Alabama.

Now for me, winning the LSU game has become very important because I live amidst the heathen. And I do enjoy giving a little elbow back when the mob gets too unruly. But I think I can honestly say Alabama is far more important to LSU than LSU is to Alabama... and that has been true for decades.

I root for LSU except against Alabama, and I root for all SEC against outsiders because having a rep as the toughest conference confers benefits to all in the form of respect and poll votes. Alabama probably doesn’t get a rematch with LSU in 2012 if the reputation of the conference was not so dominant.

In any case, it is a little funny to see the vitriol on here. And after that little low class display at midfield in Tuscaloosa in 2019, followed by RTWFU... well... I’ve never seen that kind of disrespect before, and I think LSU will be made to regret that BS for a long time.

I don't think there's any question, and when Saban came to Alabama it made things much worse.

The real nutjobs, however, are cajunbama and Texag7. One is supposedly a Cajun Alabama fan but has never posted about anything but LSU. The other is supposedly an Aggie fan but only posts about how much better Bama is than LSU.

As a Bama fan I can promise you we don’t consider LSU a rival. Both sides need to win consistently for that.

You haven’t spent much time among the two fan bases huh? On field record aside , ask any Bama fan which fan base they hate and most will say Auburn and LSU. Tiger fans despise Bama for obvious reasons. It’s not just the board. Get out more and you’ll see it first hand.

We just are the two largest and most passionate fan bases on here and IRL. In the south it doesn’t get wilder than LSU and Bama fans. At least in the central time zone part of the south.

It’s not as widespread, but I’ve straight up seen a L1U fan start a fight in a bar because a dude was wearing a Bama t-shirt.

MSU v Ole Miss and Bama v Barn are more heated IRL overall though.

Exactly. I don’t think there is massive hate at all. Just two fan bases needling each other
