Johnny Football is 5-10 a buck 70 soaking wet...there is no way this little guy scrambling for his life can dominate the SEC like he did this year...sorry, but it ain't happening. Even Cam Newton is getting figured out in his second year in the NFL...
This is why Pro Style QB play and scheme is always best when it comes to winning big..and being a consistent program.

with that said, I will always stress playing Sumlin's offense.
I strongly disagree. There ain't a defensive end in the world as fast as JFF.
Besides that, what is there to "figure out" about JFF? He has success because he is ridiculously athletic. He avoids sacks that every other QB in the country would have taken. This then buys him time to find open receivers. You don't overcome that with a scheme.

No, just went through the schedule and compared teams vs our strenghts and weakness.
Figured Florida was iffy, LSU and Bama were likely losses. Didn't really see anyone else we "should" lose to.
I think an 8+ win was a reasonable expectation given the peoople we had coming back on offense and defense and in particular at skill positions.
Not our fault if SEC fans in general were ignorant about our team and athletes. No one wanted to hear we had a pretty good run defense and a balanced offense last year... one of the best in the nation. Our secondary is what cost us last year. Most of us knew that the secondary problems would not be as prevalent in the run oriented SEC. Pretty simple football logic.

Same post name in the Chronicle as here. 9-3 or 8-4. Looks like everything I said back then is true. Including secondary concerns.
BTW... Manziel is the reason we aren't 8-4. Showers is a good QB but we don't beat Bama or La Tech with him. Never could have predicted JFF scrambling ability. I'm not THAT good.

Arkansas would have been far better with Petrino and Auburn was clearly unaviodable. I would have pinned A&M at 8-4 or 7-5 considering they would have lost against Arky, LSU, and Bama with maybe a couple of losses they shouldn't have.

So defenses will make adjustments and get better but this kid who is only freshman will not get any better and Sumlin and Kingsbury won't change anything.
