Here's my third post now saying they did a good job shutting down Arkansas while winning by 1 point vs. a team that hasn't won in the SEC since 2012
I was just answering your question man.

Congratulations. Obviously, the running game is the only part of a football game.
It's obviously not the only part of the game, but I was under the impression that's the only part of the game we were discussing in this thread. Congrats to you I guess for proving me wrong twice

How many times you think LSU will run a zone read as opposed to a direct handoff to the tailback? Tennessee did that shite to us all day in the 2nd quarter on. There's a scheme difference that I've barely if not ever seen from LSU this year.
LSU runs the zone read 4-5 times a game. Jennings doesn't keep it very often (even though he can), but they do use it.

Good post Crimsonchin, I think that bama will slow LSU run Offence, they better be able to pass, Because bama is designed to stop the running game.

Just watch MSU vs LSU replay for clinic in stopping that run game.
Wrong. That was only the second game for that particular OL to work together. Different story now and the two Freshmen backs are much better as well.

LSU fans argument-"We can look at your games from earlier in the season and say you can't play well on the road, but don't you dare tell us about our 34-point loss to Auburn or the arse beating we received at home against Mississippi State or the narrow victory against Florida because we're a different team now!"

If bama stops the run they win. Plain and simple. However, the only way to stop LSUs running game this year has been to get up on them early forcing them to play catchup. If LSU is allowed to stick to their game plan, they will get yards on the ground.

No offense to either party but Arkansas outgained you guys. That's a small sample size but no more than the AU blowout of LSU that most people seem hung up on. 'Bama is better than they showed against Arky, obviously, but just as obviously, LSU is not the same team now that struggled with MSU and got the doors blown off at Auburn. Should be a great game this week. Don't expect anything less or easy.

Wha...?
You can't live in a "mud hut" in a swamp.
Do you even tar-paper shack, breh?

Meh. Definitely a possibility. CNS can put together a great game plan especially when given two weeks (or more) to prepare. And they are not going to be intimidated by Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night.
Going to be a great game.
Going to be a great game.

I expected a great game in NOLA and a great one last year and was let down. Hold up your end of the bargain this time and we can get another 9-6 or 21-17 game

And this is where I think we are not capitalizing on AJ's strength. He does have the athleticism to move the ball on the ground. However, we don't seem to design plays to use that ability. Maddening. He is not seen as a threat to throw (though he can get the ball downfield - just not with consistency and accuracy) so teams load the box on us.
Hopefully CLM has changed that up somewhat.

of course we can. we held arkansas, who is a better rushing team than lsu, to 66 yards and 2.1 ypc

Honest assessment? Between 10 to 14. We are still struggling as an offense because we do not have a effective, consistent passing attack. We need either a big ST or defensive play to give us an edge. Running the ball is not going to be enough against Bama.
