Auburn can survive a late loss in November and no sec championship appearance where lsu and uga can't.
Auburn's resume is going to be stacked if they are 11-1. Even if they don't play in the SECCG because they lost to Bama/LSU they will be in the CFP over a 1-loss Big Ten or Big XII champ.

I’m just not sold on the QB position yet. Yes they had a bit of a breakout last week, but he has been pretty poor with the exception of the last 4-5 minutes of games

What 4 games does Oregon lose?

They've got the best OL/DL combo in America for sure. Tremendous experience and maturity on the OL with 5 fifth year senior starters and all returning starters and the best DL in the country with stars Brown, Davidson and Coe and they are experienced. I think they beat LSU and Bama and lose to UGA then turn the tables and win the SEC in Atlanta. AU, Clemson,OSU and OU make the playoffs. OU wins it all.

That may be true, along with the most talent. But their O is anachronistic and their D, while very solid, does not scare. CKS is very conservative by nature. Thus, even when he tries to be aggressive, because it's unnatural to him, the timing and execution are off.
They do have a boatload of elite talent, but IMO, they will likely lose to whomever comes out of the West.

I'm not 100% sold on Auburn yet but Nix was night and day against State compared to the rest of the games. But when he went from missing open WRs almost every play by 5 yards against everyone to suddenly hitting the WRs on the spot in double coverage against State then something seems to have clicked with him. If he plays like that the rest of the year with Auburn's defense then they are as good as anyone I've seen on their best day this year.

what is the best offense Oregon has played.
Beating Oregon is a solid win. not trying to say otherwise

quote:Not really. I think most SEC fans realize that AU has played the best schedule thus far. But it's likely that none of the contenders (AU, UGA, LSU, Alabama) has played a great team. I think most realize that A&M is a fraud, Oregon who knows and MSU is not much. Having said all of that, AU looks good, with a solid D and improving O. And, importantly, the type of O with which Gus is comfortable. Not saying they should be favored, but IMO, they have a legit shot to beat anyone they play.

Oregon-Washington game will go a long way in determining who wins the PAC12 north. Arizona State is the surprise team in the South. Herm Edwards has that team playing real defense. A novelty for the west coast. But LSU has the best true road win this year so far vs the horns. Alabama has been hit hard by the defensive injury bug. LSU has trouble with defense for now but the O is out of this world so far. Looking forward to the LSU- Auburn game and the Bama-LSU game. Auburn should control the lines of scrimmage vs UF.
