We’ll hear much more of this with Bama fans because future ain’t as bright.
BAMA battling Ohio State for the top spot in recruiting ranking. BAMA consensus top 5 team. BAMA is just being BAMA.

Saban wasn't the GOAT until he came to Alabama.
If he hadn’t had an NFL itch, that’s LSU success and there’s no question. Bama would have been scrambling with Shula, Price, DuBose, Franchionne type duds.

The Saban effect will not be there much longer - stay tuned

He would have eventually went to a better school because LSU wasn't a coaching destination.
He didn't have an NFL itch, he had an itch to progress the ladder.

But yet it's managed to stay at LSU for 20 years?

That doesn't seem to be the case, according to Saban.
But I'm sure you know more about what he would have done than he knows himself.
I thought it was interesting to hear his wife say they could have had the same success at LSU, had they stayed.

He can say it, but the truth is he didn't. Any more than Coach Bryant would have had the same career at Kentucky or TAMU. Only one ALABAMA.

It's called being nice while having nothing to lose by saying the words.
And it works. They loved every single football team they were ever part of, and it was a difficult decision to leave every single time.

Alabama didn't give Saban anything that LSU wouldn't have, that's why the Sabans hold that opinion.
He also would have contended for titles in 2005, 2006, and 2007 so he may have actually had MORE success had he stayed.

False, he would have had to play against Alabama if he was at LSU.
Alabama gave Saban the most dominating loss of his entire career while he was at LSU, and did it with an average at best coach while on sancations.

21-0 says it all.
LSU won a game in Tuscaloosa by 3 in OT. No small feat
that and also, congrats on winning the SEC in 2011.
Bama won the game where if you win it, you've earned a Championship.
21-0. The old ball coach was right, it is harder to to win an SEC Championship than beating LSU in the NCG.

We are still seeing the effects of it in this very thread. That night crippled an entire generation of LSU fans.
The only effects I’m seeing in this thread are the side effects of countless Alabama mothers not finding a long enough coat hanger.

This thread proves one thing. There's no expiration date on Tiger tears. Still taste fresh 12.5 years later.

LSU couldn't give him the NFL but neither could Bama. Luckily for Bama fans, he had already scratched the NFL itch.

Actually, what it shows is that 2019 GOAT status has your dicks so bent that you all are spending your vacation days off from Cracker Barrel back in 2011.

The NFL had nothing to do with it. Coach Saban couldn't produce in 5 years at LSU what he produced in any 5 year period at ALABAMA.
That's a fact.
