I find it curious that no one in the media comments on how unusually large Saban's players are. I would be curious to see how many times during a 4 year run at Bama that a player has to get a larger helmet.

For all those who don't understand what that means - Google "Why did Barry Bonds' hat size increase?"

Two first posts and neither of them were in the correct place.

this board has an inordinate amount of stupid compared to the rest of the interweb. Maybe I can get a Federal Grant to study this phenomena.

Gee, no way we have the best S&C coach in the country, AND we recruit big players as it is.

Again, WINS also matter. Okie won the Big 12 with an identical record and higher strength of schedule than A division runner up.

2006 was more like LSU 2007 than 2011 Bama. Michigan lost the last week of the regular season. Bama lost the 1st week in Nov. All of the teams above Bama lost afterwards thus Bama moved back up.

No way. Every year has teams falling and other teams moving up. The unprecedented thing was the rematch. Never before was a rematch allowed even after serious talk in 2006 bc everyone agreed, based on the eyeball test of course, that OSU and Mich were the two best teams. But in the end Mich was denied the benefit of the eyeball test.

No one really denies Bama was the best team last year, but the fact is Bama lost and it's resume was undeserving of a second bite at the apple. The best team doesn't always win.

The BamaTards think they are invincible, and you can't convince them otherwise. When they lose, whether its to Mississippi State, LSU, whoever, the meltdown is going to be epic.

I certainly don't think that. Fact is,I predicted us to go 10-2 this year, with possible losses to LSU,and State mainly due to losses on defense. THat said, why would any of us complain at the moment?

There have always been very specific rules for it to happen, and when people have been given the opportunity to have the provision removed for a non conference champion to play, it's been shot down.

Circumstances are different every year, and the BCS was set up to accommodate that. Bitching about it because it doesn't suit you for the second time is short sighted.

They worked to avoid rigid rules. Until they can even out the strength of conferences, they can't have a provision written in stone to have a conference champion.

First time that I have ever heard an LSU fan say this.
