I seem to recall Saban doing that in a championship game against UGA (arguably much later than he should have) and it working out ok.

No, I don't think he'd have had the same result but he could have at least tried, is my point.

You alter worse than Bama played last night.

If thinking I'm an alter takes the pain away from DeBoer becoming a poor man's Les Miles last night, be my guest.

I'm not mad about a 10 win playoff season, I'm mad about getting pulling an LSU 2011 NCG performance. Miles never recovered from that. DeBoer won't recover from this.

Oh, I didn’t watch the game, I was watching Arkansas win in something for a change, but y’all are still going through withdrawals from Saban. It’s weird to look at the sidelines and not see him, it just doesn’t look nearly as strong and intimidating as it did.

Nick created a monster and you’ll be hard pressed to find another coach who can feed it like he did. Getting on the coaching merry go round can be the worst thing to do when you’re pissed off about 10 win playoff seasons. Good grief.

This is the first time I’ve ever agreed with you.

Good job.

Nick couldn’t feed it like he did during murder ball days because of the portal. That is why he retired and transferred to broadcasting.

Jam Miller is RB1 at Alabama. He has missed 4 games to injury and Alabama is 2-2 in those games. Alabama’s running game with him isn’t good. Without him it doesn’t exist.

Two years ago Alabama had Roydell Williams - the most experienced, Jam Miller - good but not Najee/Trent/Jamyr/Ingram/Harris/Jacobs/Henry talentwd, and Justice Haynes - the next great Alabama running back.

Roydell went to FSU. Haynes went to Michigan and put up monster numbers until he got injured - 7.1 yards/carry average, over 100 yards in 6 of 7 games, and 10 TDs in 7 games. And Jam Miller. Pre portal Alabama would have leaned on all three this year. Without Miller, this year Alabama had a fullback as RB2 and an undersized 190 pound freshman as RB3.

The portal has changed what made Alabama so good - quality, experienced depth.

You once posted that Les Miles was a better coach than Bear Bryant.

Saban changed QB’s .. that team also had a running game and Tua had played much more than Russell or Mack.

You’re not good at football… run along troll

Lane's going to burn LSU to the ground when the Bama job opens up.

All the more reason to try one of the QBs who can actually run since Ty is completely useless right now. I'm not saying they'd have led some miracle comeback but you at least give the impression of trying instead of just letting the other team emasculate you.

Yet Georgia keeps a stable of running backs and uses them every game. Your problem is a coaching issue, not a portal issue. Other coaches have figured it out. Yours hasn't. While I hate the portal, Bama fans blaming it for their lack of a run game is laughable.
